Backstrom has allowed four goals in three of his past six outings for the Wild, and his record on the month sits at 5-3-2. He looked great tonight and is still a solid option as a number two goalie.

Niklas Backstrom struggled at Detroit Thursday, allowing four goals on 19 shots and getting pulled in the second period. Josh Harding relieved and wound up stealing the show, stopping 26 of 27 shots and carrying Minnesota to a shootout win.
