Coach Michel Therrien said Jordan Staal will rejoin the lineup tonight, according to the Post-Gazette. Staal was a healthy scratch Tuesday for the first time in his brief NHL career.

Penguins coach Michel Therrien altered his lineup Tuesday night, making rookie Jordan Staal a healthy scratch for the first time in his NHL career. Staal has seven goals, but none in the last seven games.

Eighteen-year-old Jordan Staal will stay with the Penguins for the time being instead of going back to his junior team, according to the Post-Gazette. "He deserves to stay here," general manager Ray Shero said. "He's contributing to a good hockey team, and he's making a difference. It's the best decision for Jordan, for his development, and it's the best decision for our hockey team." Staal has five points in nine games this season.

The Penguins might have a decision to make soon regarding 18-year-old Jordan Staal, according to the Post-Gazette. If Staal plays beyond Saturday's game, the first year of his three-year entry level contract will kick in. If he plays beyond 40 games, he will be eligible for unrestricted free agency a year sooner than if he were sent to his junior team. The team has yet to tip their cap as to their plans for Staal, who has four goals in eight games this season.
