Kris Newbury was released from a hospital Sunday after spending the night there with a head injury, according to the Toronto Star. His helmet came off during a fight Saturday and his head hit the ice when he fell. "It's too early to say anything categorical, but the results of the testing were good," Leafs GM John Ferguson said yesterday.

Kris Newbury spent last night in a hospital, according to the Toronto Star. During that evening's game, he fought Ronald Petrovicky and hit his helmet-less head on the ice when he fell. "He's alert," said coach Paul Maurice. "He was on the ice when he left; he was conscious and talking. They'll test him out further (today)."
