Rich Peverley was a healthy scratch Saturday after earning a spot as a point man on the second-team power-play unit for the first even games, according to the Nashville Tennessean. Coach Barry Trotz said the decision to sit Peverley was more matchup-related than it was a reflection of the forward's play.

Predators center Rich Peverley has been playing some on the left wing, and will get a chance to play on the team's top line with J.P. Dumont and Jason Arnott, according to the Tennessean.

The Predators have signed Rich Peverley to a two-year deal, according to the AP. Peverley will be paid $475,000 at the NHL level and $100,000 at the minor league level in the first year of the contract. In the second year, he will make $500,000.
