The Anaheim Ducks has inked center Ryan Carter , coming off a strong rookie campaign, to a new three-year contract, according to the Associated Press.

Ryan Carter, who missed over a month and a half with a wrist injury that required surgery, says he is ready to for the playoffs after playing in the teams final regular season game, this according to the Los Angeles Times. "I did test it and it was fine. There were no situations that I couldn't play in. It's good." Carter's return to the lineup could mean that veteran Doug Weight ends up being a healthy scratch, so keep that in mind in playoff pools.

Ryan Carter was back in the lineup on Sunday. The rookie had missed 17 games with a broken wrist. On Sunday against Phoenix, Carter lined up with Kunitz and Bobby Ryan.

Ryan Carter hopes to be able to play in either of the Ducks last two games though he may have to wait until the playoffs begin to play in a game, this according to the Los Angeles Times. Carter, who has been out since February 20th with a broken wrist appears close, barring a late set back. The rookie only scored eight points in 33 games this season, but it's hard to replace a young guys enthusiasm come playoff time. Since the Ducks have a strong squad, Carter would appear to be an average pickup for the playoffs, but you could certainly do better.

The broken wrist that Ryan Carter sustained Thursday will keep him out of action for 4-6 weeks, according to the LA Times. He underwent surgery Friday to remove bone fragments from the joint and could be back in action before the end of the regular season.

Ryan Carter broke his right wrist during Thursday's game, according to the LA Times. Coach Randy Carlyle said that Carter shouldn't require surgery but that he didn't have a timetable for the center's return to action. Consider the rookie out indefinitely for now, but there's a decent chance he won't play again in the regular season.

Ryan Carter scored his first two NHL goals in the first period of Friday's game at New Jersey, but he still has only six points in 28 games this year. Don't expect this trend to continue, Carter is merely a checking line forward, albeit one with decent skills.
