For contractual reasons, the Blackhawks had 10 games to decide whether to keep Patrick Kane on their roster or send him to the minors for the remainder of the campaign. Not surprisingly, he'll stick with the 'Hawks, as Saturday was his 11th contest. All the rookie has done thus far is score four goals and add 10 assists.

Patrick Kane had a strong debut in Thursday's 1-0 loss to Minnesota, playing over 16 minutes and picking up a couple of shots. "Best forward on the ice," opined his coach, Denis Savard. Kane was the first overall pick in the 2007 draft.

The Blackhawks signed Patrick Kane to a three-year contract on Wednesday, according to ESPN.com. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Blackhawks selected Kane with the first overall pick in the 2007 draft.
