Martin Straka will be joining his former Czech team, HC Lasselsberger Plzen, as he signed a one-year contract to handle dual roles as player and general manager, according to the Associated Press.

Updating a previous story, Martin Straka's agent has denied a report that his client is going to rejoin his former Czech team, according to ESPN. His agent (Ritch Winter) said, "Marty has made it clear that he will wait until after July 1 to evaluate all his options and make an informed decision at that time. Plzen has made an aggressive offer but it's just one of the offers he will be considering."

Martin Straka recorded a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Devils. He has now scored two points in each of the last two games in the series.

Martin Straka was able to take part in a full practice on Friday, though he wore a no-contact jersey. Coach tom Renney said the chances of Straka playing on Saturday were "remote," according to the New York Daily News. Straka's working his way back from a stinger and concussion, so it may be a while longer before he hits the ice for a game.

Martin Straka sustained a stinger when he took a hard hit during Saturday's game. He didn't return and was hunched over and hurting in the locker room following the contest, according to the New York Daily News. It's not clear at this point if the injury will keep him off the ice at all this week.
