The AP reports that Mike Sillinger has been placed on injured reserve after undergoing microfracture surgery on his right hip during the offseason.

September 12, 2008
Newsday indicates that Mike Sillinger may not be healthy in time for the start of the 2008 campaign. He is still recovering from microfracture surgery on his hip. He said, "There's pain in the joint. I have to work with it to get back the mobility. The stuff that hurts is the side-to-side movement and the shooting and opening up."

Mike Sillinger underwent successful hip surgery Wednesday morning, according to Newsday.com. The procedure was reportedly successful and Sillinger is expected to be ready for the 2008-09 season.
