Mike Sillinger took part in the morning skate Thursday, according to Newsday.com. Sillinger had not practiced since undergoing hip surgery in February.

The AP reports that Mike Sillinger has been placed on injured reserve after undergoing microfracture surgery on his right hip during the offseason.

Newsday indicates that Mike Sillinger may not be healthy in time for the start of the 2008 campaign. He is still recovering from microfracture surgery on his hip. He said, "There's pain in the joint. I have to work with it to get back the mobility. The stuff that hurts is the side-to-side movement and the shooting and opening up."

Mike Sillinger will miss upwards of three weeks due to an injured hip, the Isles announced on Monday. "You have to give Sillinger credit," Islanders coach Ted Nolan said. "He's had this nagging injury for a while and he fought through it. But it's gotten to the point where he needs to get rest and heal." Sillinger has 14 goals and 26 points in 52 games this season.
