Flyers GM Bob Clarke acknowledged yesterday that negotiations with Alexei Zhamnov to bring him back next season are not going well, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. It appears likely he will test the free agent market, though he could still re-sign.

Alexei Zhamnov has been traded to the Flyers along with a fourth-round draft pick in exchange for defenseman Jim Vandermeer, prospect Colin Fraser, and a second-round draft pick, according to TSN.ca. Zhamnov has 18 points in 23 games this season and will fill a big void at center for the Flyers, who are currently without Jeremy Roenick and Keith Primeau.
