The Blues picked up the team option on Keith Tkachuk's contract for next season Thursday, according to the AP. Tkachuk, who scored 15 goals and 21 assists in only 41 games this season, will be paid $3.8 million but count $5.7 million against the salary cap.

Keith Tkachuk will meet with GM Larry Pleau and representatives of Dave Checketts' ownership group in New York to discuss the team option the Blues hold on his contract for 2006-07, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "We've got a decision to make," Pleau said. "I think it's good for all parties to get together and make sure that everybody understands where we're at." The Blues have seven days to pick up the option, which will pay Tkachuck $3.8 million, but count $5.7 million against the salary cap.
