The Blues signed Keith Tkachuk to a two-year deal Saturday, a day before he could become a free agent. The contract is expected to be worth $8 million.

The Thrashers sent the rights to free agent Keith Tkachuk back to St. Louis on Tuesday, reacquiring the conditional first-round pick they traded to the Blues at the trading deadline, according to the AP. The trade allows the Blues to deal exclusively with Tkachuk for the rest of the week. If he should become a free agent and sign with the Thrashers, St. Louis would get either a fourth-round pick in 2008 or a third-rounder in 2009.

The Blues traded Keith Tkachuk to the Thrashers Sunday in exchange for forward Glen Metropolit, a first- and third-round draft pick in 2007 and a second-round pick in 2008, according to the AP. If Tkachuk re-signs with Atlanta this offseason, the Blues will also receive a first-round pick in 2008. Atlanta intends for Tkachuk to center their first line.
