The NHL suspended Chris Simon for 30 games for deliberately kicking Jarkko Ruutu in a game earlier this week, according to the AP. He had already been placed on a paid leave of absence by the team.

The Islanders placed Chris Simon on a paid leave of absence on Monday, according to ESPN.com. He agreed with team officials who said he might need time away from the game after he stepped on Jarkko Ruutu in a game last weekend. He will meet with the league and will most likely be suspended. He missed the first five games of the season while completing a 25-game suspension another conduct related infraction.

Chris Simon will not face criminal charges for his vicious hit on Ryan Hollweg, according to the AP. Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice said her office considered "the willingness of the potential victim to support a criminal prosecution" and other factors in reaching its decision.

Chris Simon has been suspended for the remainder of the season, according to the AP. The suspension is for minimum of 25 total games, meaning he'll miss the final 15 regular-season games, as well as the playoffs. If the Islanders play fewer than 10 postseason games, the suspension will carry into next season. The suspension comes as the result of his swinging a stick and hitting Ryan Hollweg in the face.

Chris Simon has been suspended indefinitely by the NHL for hitting Rangers forward Ryan Hollweg in the face with his stick, according to the AP. After being checked into the boards, Simon stood up and swung his stick with both hands directly into Hollweg's face in a blatant, intentional act. There's a very good chance that Simon is done for the season.
