Chris Pronger has been suspended for eight games for stomping on Ryan Kesler on Wednesday night, according to TSN.ca. The Ducks have nine games to go and he could return in their final regular season game on April 6 as they play Phoenix.

Chris Pronger is not expected to face disciplinary action from the NHL front office for stomping on Vancouver Canucks Ryan Kesler on Wednesday night, this according to TSN.ca. Kesler - one of two Canuck forwards who chased down the puck behind the goal line - collided with Pronger along the boards and fell, and the Ducks captain appeared to deliberately step on him. Kesler did not suffer any injuries from after the incident. Pronger has been solid for the defending champs contributing 43 points on the season, 12 coming by goals.

Chris Pronger returned to game action after sitting out the past two games due to a broken jaw. Pronger skated 22:58 seconds and generated one shot on goal while picking up two PIM. Activate Pronger immediately as he will wear a face shield and play through the pain of the broken jaw.

Chris Pronger underwent surgery Monday to repair a small fracture in his jaw, notes the team website. The Ducks' defenseman is listed as day-to-day but could return as soon as Friday when Anaheim battles Calgary at the Honda Center. Pronger was injured during Sunday's game against Chicago when he was struck by the stick blade of Blackhawks forward Patrick Sharp.

Chris Pronger left Sunday's game in the second period after he suffered a jaw contusion when he was on the receiving end of a stick to the face, according to SportsTicker. The Blackhawks' Patrick Sharp was following through on his shot when he connected with the defenseman's face. Pronger immediately fell to the ice before scrambling and retreating to the locker room. Pronger will not return to the game, but his status going forward has not been established. We'll keep you posted.

Chris Pronger scored a goal and added a helper in the Ducks 4-2 victory on Sunday night over the Flames. Pronger continues to put together possibly the best all-around fantasy season by any defenseman not on the Wings as he now has 12 goals, 29 assists and 110 PIM. Continue to roll him out there without a second thought.
