Chris Pronger missed his first game of the season Friday with a bruised knee, according to the AP.

The Blues traded Chris Pronger to the Oilers Tuesday night for defensemen Eric Brewer, Doug Lynch and Jeff Woywitka, according to the AP. The Blues tendered Pronger a contract qualifying offer of $7.22 million last week, but they had been actively shopping him because the salaries for Pronger, Keith Tkachuk and Doug Weight totaled $19.7 million, which was more than they could afford.
