Chris Pronger has missed the last two days of practice with the flu, though he says he will play in Friday's opener, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The Oilers traded Chris Pronger to Anaheim Monday for Joffrey Lupul, top prospect Ladislav Smid, Anaheim's first-round choice in 2007, a conditional first-round pick and Anaheim's second-round pick in 2008, according to TSN. Pronger had demanded a trade after his first season with Edmonton. He put up 56 points and a plus-2 rating during the regular season before recording 21 points and a plus-10 rating in 24 playoff games.

Chris Pronger wants out of Edmonton and could be traded, according to the AP. Pronger informed the Oilers front office on Friday that he did not want to return to the team. It is unclear the Oilers will listen to Pronger, who has four years left on his contract.

Chris Pronger confirmed yesterday that he has a cracked bone in his foot, but the defenseman plans to play through the injury and compete in the Olympics, according to the CP. "I don't think it's become that big of an issue," said Pronger.
