Tim Taylor skated for about 30 minutes Tuesday before Tampa's morning skate, the first time he's taken the ice since last year's playoffs. The center said he has not eliminated the possibility of returning this season from hip surgery. "I'm not going to rule anything out, yes or no, at this point," Taylor said in the Tampa Tribune. "I knew that I had to start pushing myself if I want to give myself a chance to return. I feel good right now. I'll do this for a few more days. Next week I'll work with strength coach Eric Lawson doing some stuff on ice for strength, and I'll go from there."

Tim Taylor might be able to test out his surgically repaired hip by skating this week, but he remains a long way from playing in a game. "It will be two weeks doing my own thing before I decide if I have enough to even practice with the team," he told the St. Petersburg Times. It's been four months since he underwent surgery, and the odds of him playing this season aren't good.
