Ryan Smyth, who is recovering from a broken thumb, was able to return to practice on Sunday, according to the Edmonton Journal. However, he won't be ready for game action for at least another week. "If I had it my way, I'd play, but the bone hasn't fully healed yet and I don't want to prolong this," Smyth said. "And it felt weak. I'm just not gripping properly."
