The Red Wings extended Nicklas Lidstrom’s contract thorough the 2009-10 season. The two-year extension is worth around $15 million.

Nicklas Lidstrom was awarded the Norris Trophy Thursday, the fifth time in his career he's been given the hardware. Although four defensmen scored more than Lidstrom's 62 points, he also had an impressive plus-40 rating and routinely played 27-30 minutes a night for the Red Wings.
