Marek Malik should return to game action on Saturday or Sunday, according to the New York Daily News. He's been out with a bruise just above his knee, but it looks like he should get back in the mix this weekend.

Marek Malik is listed as day-to-day due to the bruise he sustained just above his knee during Thursday's contest, according to the Star-Ledger. "His knee is pretty swollen," coach Tom Renney said. "No structural damage. I don't think it's anything serious." It's unlikely that he'll play again until the swelling goes down, so stay tuned for updates.

Marek Malik was sent home from practice Thursday morning for an undisclosed reason, the AP reports. He did not play in Thursday night's game with Atlanta. Rangers coach Tom Renney said it was an "internal issue," declining to offer any details except to say that the struggling defenseman had not been traded.
