Patrik Elias missed Friday's game due to what the Devils dubbed a bad case of the flu. He stayed in Atlanta overnight and was expected to fly home or join the team in Florida on Sunday, according to the Star-Ledger. Elias said he believed it was food poisoning and not related to the hepatitis A that cost him half of last season.

Patrik Elias skated during an optional workout for New Jersey on Friday and plans to be in the lineup Saturday night, according to the AP. Devils coach Lou Lamoriello said Elias was fighting a lingering cold. "I feel fine today," Elias said. "Obviously I am a little tired after four days of not skating but I feel good enough to play now."

"He is much better," Devils coach Lou Lamoriello said after the Devils' pregame skate. "The way he feels, he'll skate tomorrow and be ready for Saturday."

Patrik Elias will return from his groin injury tonight, according to the Star Ledger. "I think I'm ready to go," Elias said. "I never had that (injury) before. You feel like you're good enough and then you do certain drills and feel it. This time in the season I didn't want to take a chance." Elias missed five games with the injury.
