Martin Biron was as responsible as any Flyer for the team making the playoffs this year and he came up huge at the end with 44 saves and two shutouts in his last two starts, this according to the AP. Biron ended the year one win off his career best mark of 31 though he did establish a career best mark in SV% of .918. The Flyers don't figure to go too far in the playoffs, but Biron is hot right now so who knows.

Martin Biron picked up his fourth shutout of the season on Friday night as the Flyers beat the Devils to complete the worst to first turnabout this season, this according to the The Morning Call. ''I don't think I've ever seen a team play a better game that was so crucial,'' said chairman Ed Snider, who founded the Flyers. ''They weren't afraid, they weren't nervous. They just took it to New Jersey.'' Biron and the Flyers aren't considered true Cup contenders, but in the playoffs anything is possible. Biron is up to 29-20-9 and the year, and his .917 SV% certainly is a strong number.

Though his season has certainly been solid (28 victories, .917 SV%), Biron has slowed of late having allowed three or more goals in eight of his last 12 games.

In a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs, goalie Martin Biron recorded a whopping 51 saves in an attempt to keep the Philadelphia Flyers in contention. The Flyers scored 1:12 minutes into the third period to go up 3-0 on a night when Philly's offense was all but absent, but a late-game flurry allowed the Maple Leafs to tie it up as Biron wore down. A Pavel Kubina goal slip by in the OT period and the game was lost.
