Manny Fernandez was in full gear facing shots on Wednesday, this according to the Boston Globe. Fernandez, who is coming back from December knee surgery, still hasn't been cleared to drop to the ice in the butterfly, though that next hurdle is only a couple of days away. The Bruins are solid in net with Tim Thomas, but adding Fernandez would be great insurance if the team makes the playoffs.

Manny Fernandez is feeling the push and pull of careful rehabilitation, this according to the Boston Globe. "I'm pretty anxious to get out there," he said. "Tomorrow I've got to get them to let me go on with some equipment. Maybe in a week or two weeks, I can start seeing shots." Fernandez recovery can't come fast enough. "I'm on a need-to-know basis," Fernandez said. "Every day I come in and they tell me what's going on with workouts. I try to push, but when it comes down to it, I think they know best." Fernandez, the goalie acquired last summer to be the 'man' in goal, underwent knee surgery in December and has no definitive timetable for a return to active duty.

Manny Fernandez, now two months past surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left knee, might not be finished for the season after all, according to the Boston Globe. "How soon I'll be back, I can't say," Fernandez said. "I guess I'm kind of a test dummy, you could say. We're working hard at this, with two-a-day workouts, and I'm getting excited . . . my adrenaline is beginning to flow." Fernandez was able to play in only four games this season, his first in Boston, before finally submitting to MCL surgery.
