May 13, 2008
Wade Redden hasn't rejected any offer to return to the Senators simply because he hasn't received one, according to the Ottawa Citizen. He will be an unrestricted free agent as of July 1. Don Meehan (Redden's agent) also noted as "nonsense" a report last week that stated Redden had rejected a request by the Senators to take as much as a $3-million pay reduction from the $6.5 million he made last season. Meehan added, "I haven't had any discussions with Bryan. I haven't had any requests from him, so I don't know where any of this nonsense is coming from."
April 21, 2008
Wade Redden just may end up staying with the Senators after all, this according to a report in the Ottawa Sun. "All I can say is, earlier on I met with his agent Don Meehan and we talked about going forward with Wade, I talked about maybe what they would be looking for," said GM Bryan Murray.
March 25, 2008
Wade Redden was held out of Tuesday's game due to a hip injury sustained in the Sens' last game, according to the AP. Rookie Brian Lee replaced Redden and made a nice stop with his skate in the second period. It's not clear how long Redden will be out.
February 9, 2008
Sens GM Bryan Murray told Wade Redden he had the chance to be traded Friday -- the Sharks are believed to be interested -- but Redden said he wouldn't waive his no-trade clause, according to the Ottawa Citizen. He'll be an unrestricted free agent at season's end and is unlikely to be back with the only team for which he's played, but it sounds like he's going to finish the season with the Sens.
