The Red Wings received good news about Tomas Holmstrom's sore knee. An MRI revealed that he has no ligament damage in the joint, according to the Detroit News. He sat out of Saturday's game, but it appears he could get back in the mix at some point before the new year.

Tomas Holmstrom will not be able to play in Saturday's game due to the knee injury that knocked him out of Thursday's contest. He was slated to fly back to Detroit to get an MRI performed today, according to the Detroit Free Press. The Red Wings didn't believe initially that it was anything serious, but since it was swollen the next day, they sent him for more tests. We'll have to wait on the results before figuring out when we might see Homer back in action.
