The Boston Bruins have signed a three-year contract extension with forward Chuck Kobasew and the details of the agreement have been released, this according to TSN.ca. Kobasew will earn $2 million next season, $2.5 million in 2009-10 and $2.5 million in 2010-11.

Chuck Kobasew will remain with the Bruins after signing a 3-year contract extension with the club, according to TSN. The 3-year deal is for $7 million dollars.

Dennis Wideman will undergo hernia surgery sometime next week, according to the Boston Globe. Doctors expect it will be a routine procedure to repair an injury that Wideman sustained about a quarter of the way through the season. The Bruins' 25-year old enforcer becomes a restricted free agent on July 1, and is due for a considerable raise over his 2007-08 earnings of $600,000
