Capitals re-sign Fedorov Arlington, VA (Sports Network) - The Washington Capitals have re-signed center
Sergei Fedorov to a one-year contract.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Fedorov was acquired by the Capitals from Columbus at last season's trade
deadline in February and notched two goals with 11 assists for 13 points in 18
games after the deal. He scored the winning goal in the final game of the
season to give Washington the Southeast Division title and the club's first
playoff berth since 2003.

A Michigan bank is suing Sergei Fedorov, saying payments have stopped on more than $2 million in loans, according to the AP. Citizens State Bank filed a lawsuit Monday against Fedorov. The lawsuit, filed in Macomb County Circuit Court, stated Fedorov got loans in 2004 and 2005, one for $1.75 million and another for $500,000. A default notice was sent in May after payments stopped, Citizens State Bank attorney Scott Norton indicated Tuesday. The bank is owed at least $2.1 million in interest and principal, according to the lawsuit.
