Jorge Posada, C, New York YankeesMonday 11/12, 10:30 PM CT
Jorge Posada and the Yankees have agreed to a new deal, according to the New York Daily News. It's a four-year package reportedly worth $52.4 million.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 11/12, 9:21 PM CT
Ryan Braun captured the NL's Rookie of the Year Award Monday, finishing two points ahead of Colorado's Troy Tulowitzki. Braun was immense for the Brewers from the moment he joined the club in late May, rolling up a .324 average, 91 runs, 34 homers, 97 RBI and 15 stolen bases in just 113 games played. He also slugged .634 and had an OPS of 1.004. Best of all for fantasy owners, in most leagues you don't receive any downgrade for Braun's leaky defense (26 errors).
Dustin Pedroia, 2B, Boston Red SoxMonday 11/12, 9:16 PM CT
Dustin Pedroia received the AL's Rookie of the Year Award Monday, finishing well ahead of runner-up Delmon Young. Pedroia hit .317 with 39 doubles, rebounding nicely after a terrible first month with the Red Sox (.172 average).
Todd Jones, P, Detroit TigersMonday 11/12, 4:15 PM CT
Todd Jones agreed on a one-year, $7 million deal with the Tigers on Monday, according to the AP. With Joel Zumaya expected to miss at least half of the 2008 season after undergoing shoulder surgery, Jones will serve as Detroit's closer next year.
Omar Infante, 3B, Atlanta BravesMonday 11/12, 10:48 AM CT
The Tigers traded Omar Infante to the Cubs in exchange for Jacque Jones on Monday. Infante hit .271 in 166 at-bats for Detroit in 2007. He can play every outfield position as well as second, short and third. It's possible he could start for Chicago in center field against left-handed pitching.
Jacque Jones, LF, Florida MarlinsMonday 11/12, 10:43 AM CT
Jacque Jones is headed back to the AL Central. The former Minnesota Twin has been dealt to the Tigers in exchange for Omar Infante, according to the AP. Jones is likely to start in left field for Detroit, though he could platoon with Marcus Thames and/or Ryan Raburn.
