Johan Santana, P, New York MetsSunday 12/2, 10:05 PM CT
The AP reports the Yankees will pull out of the Johan Santana trade talks with the Twins if they don't make a decision by late Monday (no specific time was set). "I'm not going to be played against the Red Sox. That's not something I'll do. That's not something the Yankees should ever do, and that's I think what they're trying to do now," Yankees senior vice president Hank Steinbrenner said Sunday. "So if they want the best offer that has been offered to them, then they need to make up their minds." The Yankees have reportedly offered Phil Hughes, Melky Cabrera and another mid-level prospect for the left-hander. Should the Yanks not pull off a deal for Santana, they will likely turn their attention towards acquiring Dan Haren from the A's.
Jacoby Ellsbury, CF, Boston Red SoxSunday 12/2, 2:10 PM CT
ESPN's Buster Olney reports the Red Sox are willing to include Jacoby Ellsbury in a deal for Minnesota's Johan Santana. However, if they include Ellsbury in the package, they're unlikely to part with either Clay Buchholz or Jon Lester. The Yankees reportedly have an offer on the table that includes Phil Hughes, Melky Cabrera, and a third player to be determined, so the Twins will have some options.
Mike Lamb, 3B, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 12/2, 1:56 PM CT
The Astros declined to offer Mike Lamb arbitration. Lamb was neither a Type A or B free agent, so the 'Stros wouldn't have received any compensation had they offered him arbitration and he signed with another team.
Jason Jennings, P, Texas RangersSunday 12/2, 1:55 PM CT
The Astros declined to offer Jason Jennings arbitration. Jennings, who missed the final month of the 2007 season after undergoing elbow surgery, held a 6.45 ERA in 19 games (18 starts) this year.
Mark Loretta, 2B, Houston AstrosSunday 12/2, 1:53 PM CT
The Astros have offered arbitration to Mark Loretta. He has until Friday to accept the offer. Loretta is a Type B free agent.
Trever Miller, P, St. Louis CardinalsSunday 12/2, 1:51 PM CT
The Astros offered arbitration to Trever Miller over the weekend. He has until Friday to accept the offer. Miller is a Type B free agent.
Aaron Rowand, CF, San Francisco GiantsSunday 12/2, 10:19 AM CT
Aaron Rowand was offered salary arbitration by the Phillies before Saturday night's midnight deadline. It's now up to Rowand - he can either accept arbitration by the Dec. 7 deadline, or become a free agent.
Mike Cameron, CF, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 12/2, 1:38 AM CT
Mike Cameron was offered salary arbitration by the Padres Saturday. He has until Friday to accept the offer, though he is expected to decline it and become a free agent.
