| The Braves have completed their trade with the A's for center fielder Mark Kotsay. Oakland will receive reliever Joey Devine and minor league pitcher Jamie Richmond in the deal. Kotsay is coming off an injury-plagued 2007 season in which he hit just .214 with one homer in 206 at-bats. |

| Tigers manager Jim Leyland said that he's "very concerned" about the status of Vance Wilson heading into the season. Wilson missed nearly all of last season due to Tommy John surgery. "I would predict it's very unlikely he'd be usable very early on (in spring training)," Leyland added, according to the Detroit News. "I'm hoping after the first couple of weeks, he'd be ready to go, but I'm not sure of that. He's done a lot to keep himself in great shape, but I'm concerned." Those concerns could force the Tigers to hold on to Brandon Inge as a reserve catching option. After the Tigers acquired third baseman Miguel Cabrera, it was assumed that they'd deal Inge, but those plans might be on hold. |
