Juan Gonzalez is about to sign a minor league deal with the Cardinals, according to Newsday. It was reported a couple of weeks ago that the Cards were interested in bringing him in for a look this spring, and it appears it's going to happen. Gonzalez has more MVP's (two) than at-bats (one) in the past three seasons, so expectations should be pretty low if he makes a comeback.

The Padres and Khalil Greene have agreed to a two-year, $11 million contract, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. The club had hoped to lock him up to a three- or four-year deal, but Greene wanted the shorter option. When Greene is able to stay healthy, like last season, he can provide plenty of power.
