When he picked up a bat after the fifth inning of action, he said if felt like "it was 1,000 pounds" because he had a "dead arm." The official diagnosis was irritation in Hardy's shoulder, the same one he had surgically repaired in 2004, and ended his season at Triple-A Indianapolis. It isn't known yet if the current injury is related to that torn labrum. Hardy is unsure how much time he will miss but said, "I don't know. We'll see what the doctor says, but I feel like I can play today (Thursday). I think the fact that we don't know exactly what it is is annoying because it's been lingering for a while."
