I could end up in the American League, and I'd be perfect for the DH," he said. "Obviously, I'm not going to hit as many home runs as I used to, but I think my extra-base-hit numbers will be there. I hit 26 doubles not playing every day. If you get 400-500 at-bats, I could very easily have been in the mid-30s or low 40s."

The Cubs' organization released this statement, "The Chicago Cubs are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Kevin Foster. Kevin was an Evanston native who gave five seasons to his Chicago Cubs, twice reaching double digits in victories with 12 wins in 1995 and 10 wins in 1997. He was very popular with his teammates, the organization and fans, and he will be tremendously missed. The organization sends its heartfelt condolences to his entire family."
