Amare Stoudemire, F, Phoenix SunsMonday 10/1, 10:55 PM CT
Amare Stoudemire is scheduled to have his right knee scoped Tuesday morning, the Arizona Republic reports. It will be Stoudemire's third knee surgery in two years, but it is not the knee that undwent the microfracture procedure two years ago. There has been swelling in Stoudemire's right knee recently, prompting him to undergo an MRI on Sunday. There is an expectation that it will be a simple procedure to remove a "loose body" and that he would only miss two to three weeks but a scope can also reveal more than a MRI does.
Tony Battie, F, Orlando MagicMonday 10/1, 10:46 AM CT
Tony Battie could miss the entire upcoming season due to shoulder surgery. "It will be a significant amount of time -- I have been told that much," Battie said, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Battie has a partially torn rotator cuff and will seek a third opinion before deciding on surgery. Aside from brief stretches of success, Battie wasn't going to be much of a fantasy option, but the Magic will miss his presence in the paint if he's out of the mix.
