Dwight Howard, C, Orlando MagicMonday 10/8, 11:11 PM CT
Magic forward Dwight Howard poured in 30 points, had 11 rebounds, and added four blocks in Orlando’s 94-93 preseason loss to Atlanta. Howard sat out for most of the fourth quarter, and made a handful of mid-range jumpers.
Rashard Lewis, F, Orlando MagicMonday 10/8, 8:57 PM CT
Magic Forward Rashard Lewis left Monday night’s game with cramps. Lewis couldn’t make it down the court in the third quarter, and the Magic called timeout and removed him from the game. Lewis, acquired via trade with Seattle this off-season, remained on the bench until the end of the game.
Anthony Carter, G, Denver NuggetsMonday 10/8, 8:35 PM CT
Nuggets guard Anthony Carter will have surgery to repair a broken bone in his right hand and will miss a large portion of the season. He fractured the bone during a practice last Saturday. A timetable has not yet been set for his return, and doctors say they will have an idea after the surgery is complete.
Eddy Curry, C, New York KnicksMonday 10/8, 9:58 AM CT
Eddy Curry was injured during Saturday's practice and was unable to practice Sunday as a result. The exact nature of the injury isn't clear, yet, but more will be known after the results of Sunday's MRI are released, according to the New York Daily News. "We don't think it's anything season-ending," Curry said yesterday. "We think this will be something that will take a little rehab maybe. But it still hurts" That he's even mentioning "season-ending" is cause for concern, but hopefully the MRI will clear him to return to action soon.
