Udonis Haslem, F, Miami HeatWednesday 11/14, 7:56 AM CT
Udonis Haslem has been named team captain by head coach Pat Riley, the AP reports. "We didn't have any official captains last year, but Udonis is really the heart and soul of this team now," Riley said. The veteran coach is doing anything he can to spark his 1-6 club, we'll say that for him. Nothing seemed to work in Tuesday's 15-point loss to Charlotte, however." I guarantee you I should suit up. I'd play better than some of them right now," Riley said after the game. "I guarantee it. I swear to God. With an old hip and 62-years-old and I can't see, I'll play better than some of my guys tonight. Come on, they were pretty bad." Back to captain Haslem - he had 10 points (on 4-of-13 shooting) and seven rebounds in Tuesday's game, under his seasonal averages (14 and 10).
Dwyane Wade, G, Miami HeatWednesday 11/14, 7:54 AM CT
Dwyane Wade sat out Tuesday's game at Charlotte and isn't sure if he'll be able to go Wednesday against Seattle, the AP reports. Wade (knee) has yet to play this year and the Heat is off to a 1-6 start without him.
Tracy McGrady, G, Houston RocketsWednesday 11/14, 7:51 AM CT
Tracy McGrady poured in 41 points during Tuesday's loss at Memphis, playing despite a minor knee injury in the second period. "I put some ice on it (at halftime) and the pain went down," McGrady told the AP. "I felt good after that."

"Since I've been back, that's definitely the strongest that I've felt," said Stoudemire, who missed the entire training camp and all but the last two preseason games. "It's just a matter of improving, try to get more workouts in and try to get in better shape slowly but surely."
Kwame Brown, F, Detroit PistonsWednesday 11/14, 6:16 AM CT

Marbury was absent from the team's morning shootaround Tuesday, and failed to show up when the Knicks played Phoenix later that night. Meanwhile, the New York Post reported that Marbury claims he had permission to leave the club. "I would never leave my team on my own," Marbury told The Post. "What I'm telling you is that I got permission to leave from Isiah (Thomas). He said I could go home." Thomas did not confirm that assertion after Tuesday's game. One thing that does appear clear - Marbury isn't happy with his reduced role with the club. He's not expected to rejoin the team in Los Angeles for Wednesday's game with the Clippers.
