Tyson Chandler, C, New Orleans HornetsMonday 11/19, 8:53 PM CT
Starting center Tyson Chandler was helped to the locker room by the Hornets trainers after his knee buckled when he tripped over several players. Chandler took one awkward step after tripping and then collapsed to the floor in obvious pain. This season Chandler has been performing well, averaging 11.4 points and 11.5 rebounds per game.
Greg Oden, C, Portland TrailblazersMonday 11/19, 9:18 AM CT
Greg Oden has packed on 29 pounds of muscle since July. The Trail Blazers recently decided to curb his bulking up and have him focus on building his core strength, according to the Oregonian. He now weighs 282 pounds, which will make him all that more scary if he is able to fully recover from his microfracture surgery.
Tracy McGrady, G, Houston RocketsMonday 11/19, 9:13 AM CT
Tracy McGrady wasn't quite ready to play Saturday, but he might give it a try on Wednesday. "The doctor didn't feel comfortable giving him the OK (to play Saturday)," coach Rick Adelman said, according to the Houston Chronicle. "The way he explained it to us, it made a lot more sense with this three-day break to give him that break. Wednesday, there's going to be a much better feeling about where he is." He might be a game-time decision Wednesday, depending on how his sprained elbow feels. That makes him a risky play this week if you have to set your lineup on Monday.
Kwame Brown, F, Detroit PistonsMonday 11/19, 9:04 AM CT
Kwame Brown sustained mild sprains of his left knee and ankle during Sunday's game. X-rays were negative, but he'll miss at least three games, according to the LA Times. When Ben Wallace fell full force into Brown's leg, it looked potentially serious, but it appears Brown will be all right. Keep him benched this week.
Jermaine O'Neal, F, Toronto RaptorsMonday 11/19, 8:44 AM CT
Jermaine O'Neal still is working his way back from offseason knee surgery. "It's not quite there," he told the Indianapolis Star. "I've lost some strength in it because of the surgery. It's something I can regain. I'm playing on the run because you have to go through the bumps and bruises with the swelling. I'm trying to play through it and help the team." He doesn't plan to sit out to rest the joint, but most fantasy leaguers probably have him on their bench. He's averaging just 13.1 points, while hitting only 39.7 percent from the floor. That makes him a decent buy-low guy, but you shouldn't expect a return to his previous form as a top-end big man.
Rodney Stuckey, G, Detroit PistonsMonday 11/19, 8:32 AM CT
Rodney Stuckey is scheduled to have his broken left hand examined today. If all goes well, he'll be fitted for a protective glove that he would wear on the court, according to the Detroit Free Press. It's possible he could begin practicing as soon as Tuesday, in which case we might see him make his NBA debut this week.
Vince Carter, G, New Jersey NetsMonday 11/19, 8:21 AM CT
Vince Carter is making a steady recovery from his sprained ankle. In fact, he flew with the Nets to Utah Sunday and could play against the Jazz tonight, according to the New York Daily News. He'll probably be a game-time call, but it's great news that he's this close to game action so soon after sustaining his injury.
Luol Deng, G, Chicago BullsMonday 11/19, 8:13 AM CT
The back injury Luol Deng sustained Thursday kept him out of Sunday's game. It's also expected to sideline him until at least Saturday, according to the Chicago Tribune. "I'm going to wait for [the pain] to go away." he said. "I thought it was one of those injuries I could play through, but I can't run or bend down. I don't even know how it occurred. I've never had anything like this." You know he had to be hurting, since he missed out on a chance to face trade-rumor partner Kobe Bryant on Sunday. Keep him benched for now.
