Tracy McGrady, G, Houston RocketsTuesday 1/8, 10:18 PM CT
Tracy McGrady (knee) sat out again Tuesday, as expected, the AP reports. He'll be checked out by the team's medical staff Thursday to determine when he'll be able to return - there's some hope that he may be able to go Friday against Minnesota.
Ray Allen, G, Boston CelticsTuesday 1/8, 9:52 PM CT
Ray Allen has a pinched nerve in his neck and is doubtful for Wednesday's home game against Charlotte, Doc Rivers told the AP. "It's not anything that's going to last," Rivers said after practice Tuesday, adding he expects Allen to play Friday at New Jersey. "It's a pinched nerve, it is what it is. From my understanding, it's day to day."
Kevin Durant, G, Oklahoma City TBDTuesday 1/8, 9:49 PM CT
Kevin Durant suffered a sprained left ankle midway through the fourth period Tuesday and did not return, the AP reports. The injury looked fairly benign when it happened, but we'll see what the club says in a day or two.
Dwyane Wade, G, Miami HeatTuesday 1/8, 1:47 PM CT
Heat coach Pat Riley is concerned about guard Dwyane Wade, who is dealing with “compensation” injuries related to last season’s shoulder dislocation – which Riley told the AP was more serious than most people realize. Wade is playing with soreness in his shoulder and knee, as well as a bruised right shoulder, an injured shin and a jammed finger. Wade isn’t waiting for the soreness to go away. “I’ve just reached a point where I understand this is just how my body is going to feel,” Wade said. “It’s just how it’s going to be, so you just got to toughen up mentally and go forward.”
Shaquille O'Neal, C, Phoenix SunsTuesday 1/8, 9:57 AM CT
Heat center Shaquille ONeal flew to Los Angeles on Saturday to seek medical treatment on his sore hip, the AP reported. O’Neal bruised his hip diving for a loose ball on December 22, then aggravated the injury on December 26 and hasn’t played since. He originally had hoped to return to action on Tuesday night against Minnesota.
