Ryan Gomes, F, Minnesota TimberwolvesSaturday 1/12, 11:59 PM CT
Ryan Gomes had 21 points and nine rebounds in Saturday's loss to San Antonio. Perhaps he's the new player of the moment as fantasy owners look to find fantasy meaning in Minnesota.
Kevin Martin, G, Sacramento KingsSaturday 1/12, 11:59 PM CT
Kevin Martin was back on the court as expected Saturday, playing 28 minutes in a loss to the Pacers.
Jermaine ONeal, C, Indiana PacersSaturday 1/12, 11:58 PM CT
Jermaine O'Neal returned to action Saturday and played 34 minutes. He missed the previous game with a knee injury.
Michael Redd, G, Milwaukee BucksSaturday 1/12, 11:08 PM CT
Michael Redd returned to the starting lineup Saturday, playing 37 minutes against Phoenix. He finished with 18 points on 5-of-16 shooting.
Steve Nash, G, Phoenix SunsSaturday 1/12, 10:46 PM CT
Steve Nash (flu) returned to action Saturday, rolling up 35 points and seven assists in 33 minutes against Milwaukee.
Kevin Martin, G, Sacramento KingsSaturday 1/12, 8:52 AM CT
Kevin Martin has been cleared to return to action on Saturday, according to the Sacramento Bee. Martin, who has been out since early December with a groin injury, will come off the bench initially as he gets his game legs under him.
Andrei Kirilenko, F, Utah JazzSaturday 1/12, 8:49 AM CT
Andrei Kirilenko was able to return to practice on Friday to test out his sore lower back. "Right now," he told the Deseret News before the session, "it feels good. I hope it can stay that way." He's missed the past three games due to the injury, but he may get back in the mix on Saturday.
Shawn Marion, F, Miami HeatSaturday 1/12, 8:36 AM CT
Shawn Marion was able to test his sore shoulder and elbow by shooting in practice on Friday, according to the Arizona Republic. Barring an unexpected turn of events, it sounds like he should be able to play on Saturday.
Steve Nash, G, Phoenix SunsSaturday 1/12, 8:33 AM CT
Steve Nash hopes to play on Saturday after missing the previous game due to the flu. "I talked to him about half an hour ago and he's doing much better," trainer Aaron Nelson said, according to the Arizona Republic. "His stomach is still a little uneasy, but he's not nauseous anymore. He isn't fluish anymore. He's getting back to a more normal diet. He anticipates being here for shootaround tomorrow and hopefully going tomorrow night." Keep your fingers crossed, but it sounds like he should be ready to run tonight.
Robert Swift, C, Seattle SupersonicsSaturday 1/12, 8:24 AM CT
Robert Swift had his sore knee examined on Wednesday. The doctor said the tendinitis is normal and that Swift may be able to return to practice in a couple of weeks, according to the Seattle Times. He's also dealing with some plantar fasciitis, so we aren't likely to see him in game action until next month.
Luke Ridnour, G, Seattle SupersonicsSaturday 1/12, 8:16 AM CT
Luke Ridnour still is dealing with a left quadriceps strain, and coach P.J. Carlesimo isn't sure when he's going to let the guard return to game action. "We have to be sure that he's ready to come back," Carlesimo told the Seattle Times. "He's got to go through a full practice, and he's got to be going forward." Keep him benched for now, if you're in a deep league and actually have him on your roster.
Chris Wilcox, F, Seattle SupersonicsSaturday 1/12, 8:09 AM CT
On Friday, Chris Wilcox missed his fourth straight game due to his dislocated right pinkie finger. He said a recent evaluation revealed that he actually has a torn ligament in the digit, according to the Seattle Times. He has the finger taped to his ring finger but still feels pain when he catches the ball and shoots. Wilcox intends to practice Sunday with the hope of playing on Monday, but he'll have to get through that session without too much pain in order to return to action.
Vladimir Radmanovic, F, Los Angeles LakersSaturday 1/12, 7:54 AM CT
Vladimir Radmanovic has now missed the past five games due to his sprained ankle. "This is a process where someone who watched him come off the floor the other day after he was injured would have no inkling it was as severe as it was," coach Phil Jackson said, according to the LA Times. It sounds unlikely that he'll be ready to suit up for Sunday's game, either.
Nene Hilario, C, Denver NuggetsSaturday 1/12, 7:40 AM CT
Nene Hilario has taken an indefinite leave from the Nuggets to tend to a personal medical issue. "I'm very upset that I have to put a little delay on being with the team to take care of my health," Nene said in a statement, according to the Denver Post. "I want to get back on the court as soon as possible to help my teammates." The Nugs and Nene declined to elaborate on what he's dealing with or for how long he'll be gone, so we'll just have to wait and see. Kenyon Martin should benefit some from Nene's absence from the frontcourt.
Raymond Felton, G, Charlotte BobcatsSaturday 1/12, 7:30 AM CT
Raymond Felton sustained a badly sprained right ankle during Friday's game. "I'll try to play [Saturday]," Felton told the Charlotte Observer, "but they probably won't let me." Backup point guard Jeff McInnis is nursing a strained right quadriceps, and combo guard Derek Anderson is battling a sore knee, so it's not clear who might man the point Saturday against the Pistons.
Michael Redd, G, Milwaukee BucksSaturday 1/12, 7:25 AM CT
Michael Redd was able to return from his bruised left thigh on Friday night. Redd came off the bench to score 22 points in 24 minutes and should return to the starting lineup soon.
Zach Randolph, F, New York KnicksSaturday 1/12, 6:48 AM CT
Zach Randolph saw limited action during Friday's game, because he couldn't keep up with Toronto's Chris Bosh, who torched the Knicks for 40 points. Randolph was seen jawing at coach Isiah Thomas on the sideline during the game, according to the New York Daily News. Randolph failed to score a point in the game, as he continues his up-and-down performance this season.
Luol Deng, F, Chicago BullsSaturday 1/12, 6:34 AM CT
Luol Deng practiced Thursday, but he was unable to even take part in the next morning's shootaround due to stiffness in his troublesome Achilles tendon. He also skipped the evening game. "We don't want him to have something that's going to linger," interim coach Jim Boylan said, according to the Chicago Tribune. "[Andres Nocioni] had that last year with his fascia in his foot. We managed his pain and it wore him down. We're trying to avoid that situation with Lu." In other words, expect the Bulls to hold him out of game action until the condition subsides, which means it's unlikely he'll be on the hardwood to ball on Sunday.
Joakim Noah, F, Chicago BullsSaturday 1/12, 6:29 AM CT
Joakim Noah got into an argument with assistant coach Ron Adams during Friday morning's shootaround, because the coach kept riding him about forgetting plays and blowing assignments. As a result of the tiff, Noah was placed on the inactive list for that evening's game, according to the Chicago Tribune. It sounds like both sides have made up and they plan to move on, so this should just be an isolated incident. He'll be back in the mix for the Bulls' next game. Noah's fantasy value has been sporadic during his rookie campaign, as he continues to battle for minutes in a crowded frontcourt.
Rajon Rondo, G, Boston CelticsSaturday 1/12, 6:23 AM CT
Rajon Rondo was unable to finish Friday night's game after injuring his back during a fall in he second quarter. He's not sure if he'll be able to lace up for Saturday's run with the Wiz, according to the Boston Globe. If Rondo isn't able to play, look for Tony Allen to replace him in the starting lineup.
