Andrei Kirilenko, F, Utah JazzSunday 1/13, 8:14 AM CT
Andrei Kirilenko was able to return to action on Saturday after missing the previous three games with a back injury. He tallied 16 points, eight dimes and seven boards in 34 minutes on the hardwood. He didn't suffer any set backs, so it appears safe to keep AK-47 in your lineups for the upcoming week of games.
Tracy McGrady, G, Houston RocketsSunday 1/13, 8:05 AM CT
Tracy McGrady is expected to miss at least another week of action, according to the Houston Chronicle. He continues to battle a deep bone bruise in his left knee, so keep him benched for the upcoming week.
Randy Foye, G, Minnesota TimberwolvesSunday 1/13, 7:58 AM CT
Randy Foye will have his progress assessed after Monday's practice to determine his next step in his recovery from his knee injury. "So far, so good," coach Randy Wittman told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Foye has been out all season due to his ailing knee but recently was cleared to step up his activities. There's no sense in speculating on how soon he might get into game action until we hear how his exam goes on Monday.
Josh Howard, F, Dallas MavericksSunday 1/13, 7:49 AM CT
The Mavs played Saturday's game without the services of Josh Howard. He left the team and flew home to North Carolina to deal with a family matter, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Jason Terry replaced Howard in the starting lineup Saturday, but Howard is expected to rejoin the Mavs for Monday's game.
Steven Hunter, C, Denver NuggetsSunday 1/13, 7:37 AM CT
Steven Hunter recently returned to practice, according to the Denver Post. He's recovering from knee surgery performed in November. It's not clear when he'll be ready to play in games, but he could have some value if Nene remains out indefinitely.
Jeff McInnis, G, Charlotte BobcatsSunday 1/13, 7:23 AM CT
A quadriceps injury kept Jeff McInnis from playing on Saturday. "It's a little tight so we decided to just rest it," McInnis said, according to the Charlotte Observer. "If I go out and pull it, I could miss four-six weeks. I'm getting a little older, so I've got to be careful with injuries." McInnis carries little fantasy value even as a starter, so you may want to bench him until his condition improves.
Raymond Felton, G, Charlotte BobcatsSunday 1/13, 7:20 AM CT
As expected, Raymond Felton didn't play on Saturday due to his badly sprained ankle. Since Jeff McInnis and Derek Anderson, who are the Bobs' other point-guard options, where out, too, Matt Carroll and rookie Jared Dudley started in the backcourt against the Pistons. "If they're out a week to 10 days, we probably need some help," coach Sam Vincent told the Charlotte Observer. Whether the Bobs sign a free agent to help out could give us an idea of how long they expect their PGs to remain out. For now, consider Felton iffy for the week ahead.
Shaquille O'Neal, C, Phoenix SunsSunday 1/13, 6:49 AM CT
Shaquille O'Neal was slated to receive the final treatment on his ailing hip Saturday, then fly from Los Angeles back to Miami. He could try practicing as soon as Sunday, according to the Miami Herald. It's not clear when he'll return to game action. It was reported by ESPN on Friday that a close associate of Shaq's recommended he not play anymore this season, so there's really no telling what Shaq will do. Clearly, he's a shell of his former dominant self, though, in the NBA and Fantasyland.
Luol Deng, F, Chicago BullsSunday 1/13, 6:30 AM CT
After Luol Deng took part in halfcourt, four-on-four action in practice Sunday, he said he was ready to roll for Sunday's game. However, trainer Fred Tedeschi said he wanted to wait to see how Deng's ailing Achilles tendon responds to the workout Sunday morning, according to the Chicago Tribune. It looks like he could be a game-time call, but the Bulls may lean towards being cautious with their young star.
Rajon Rondo, G, Boston CelticsSunday 1/13, 6:26 AM CT
The back injury Rajon Rondo sustained Friday kept him from lacing up for Saturday's game. He's slated to be examined further Sunday and may have an MRI taken, according to the Boston Globe. "Monday's probably doubtful," said coach Doc Rivers. "But we'll see. He's young and he heals faster than all of us." The C's have a rematch of Saturday's loss to the Wiz on Monday. We should have a better idea of his status for that game after he's looked over on Sunday.
