Jerry Stackhouse, G, Dallas MavericksFriday 2/8, 11:39 PM CT
Jerry Stackhouse returned to action Friday night after missing seven games with a sore right hamstring, but he didn't play in the second half, according to the AP. Mavericks coach Avery Johnson said Stackhouse was OK and that the second-half sitdown was planned, but Stackhouse later acknowledged that he tweaked the hamstring. "I wanted to get out there and test it, and it's not where I want it to be," Stackhouse said. "It was good to get some minutes."
Shaquille O'Neal, C, Phoenix SunsFriday 2/8, 10:17 PM CT

Jason Kidd, G, Dallas MavericksFriday 2/8, 8:40 PM CT
Jason Kidd has his 12th triple-double of the season on Friday night, delivering 19 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists in a win over the Bobcats. It's his first triple-double since he went public with his trade demands on Jan. 28.
Tim Thomas, F, Los Angeles ClippersFriday 2/8, 8:20 PM CT
Clippers forward Tim Thomas left Friday's game at Toronto because of a sore back, according to the AP. Thomas, who missed Wednesday's game because of back pain, started Friday and played all 12 minutes of the first quarter, but did not come out for the second and didn't return.
Mike Conley, G, Memphis GrizzliesFriday 2/8, 8:17 PM CT
Rookie guard Mike Conley returned for Grizzlies on Friday night after missing the last five games with a bruised chest. Conley is averaging 8.8 PPG and 2.5 RPG this year.
Erick Dampier, C, Dallas MavericksFriday 2/8, 8:07 PM CT
The AP reports that Erick Dampier missed Friday's with a sprained right ankle he sustained in Wednesday's game. DeSagana Diop started in Dampier's place, his first start since January 6 at Minnesota.
Brandon Roy, G, Portland TrailblazersFriday 2/8, 4:32 PM CT
Brandon Roy will miss Friday's game against the Pistons due to a death in the family, according to the AP. Because of the timing of the memorial service, Roy will also miss Saturday's game against the Pacers. He is expected to rejoin the Trailblazers for Monday's game vs. the Rockets.
Drew Gooden, F, Chicago BullsFriday 2/8, 4:28 PM CT
Drew Gooden, who missed Thursday night's game with a groin injury, will be a game-time decision for tomorrow's game against the Hawks, according to the AP.
Daniel Gibson, G, Cleveland CavaliersFriday 2/8, 4:25 PM CT
Daniel Gibson is listed as doubtful for Saturday's game against the Hawks after suffering a strained right hamstring on Thursday night, according to the AP. Gibson played just under 19 minutes Thursday, scoring five points and grabbing two rebounds, dropping his season averages to 11.6 points and 2.5 rebounds.
Jermareo Davidson, F, Charlotte BobcatsFriday 2/8, 4:20 PM CT
The Bobcats recalled rookie forward Jermareo Davidson from Sioux Falls of the D-League on Friday, according to the AP. The 6-10, 230-pounder appeared in six Skyforce games and averaged 18.0 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 31.5 minutes. In 16 games with the Bobcats this season, Davidson has averaged 2.7 points and 1.5 rebounds.
Derek Anderson, G, Charlotte BobcatsFriday 2/8, 2:57 PM CT
Derek Anderson is nursing a sore right knee and will not be able to take part in Friday's tilt with the Nets, according to the Charlotte Observer. Anderson has virtually no fantasy value even when he's active.
Matt Carroll, G, Charlotte BobcatsFriday 2/8, 2:55 PM CT
Matt Carroll is expected to sit out Friday's game due to tendinitis in his right ankle, according to the Charlotte Observer. It'll be the second straight game Carroll has missed due to the ailment. On the upside for the Bobs, they'll get Gerald Wallace back in the mix.
Kevin Garnett, F, Boston CelticsFriday 2/8, 2:08 PM CT
Kevin Garnett did't attend the Celtics' shootaround in Minneapolis this morning and will not play this evening against his old T-Wolves squad, according to the Boston Herald. KG will be announced before the starting lineup to give the fans a chance to show their appreciation, then he'll head back to the locker room. It remains unclear when he'll ball again, but it may not be until after the All-Star break.
Sam Cassell, G, Boston CelticsFriday 2/8, 2:02 PM CT
Sam Cassell has been suspended one game by the NBA for committing a Flagrant II Foul by swinging and making contact with the Celtics' Rajon Rondo during Wednesday's game, according to the Boston Globe. It's a bit ironic, because the same paper reported this week that Cassell is trying to get his Clippers' contract bought out so he can sign with the Celtics. Cassell and Rondo would then compete for playing time at the point. Cassell, who will miss tonight's game against the Raptors, denied the buyout report.
Ronnie Brewer, G, Utah JazzFriday 2/8, 9:56 AM CT
Ronnie Brewer has been diagnosed with what the Jazz are calling a "severely bruised" tailbone, according to the Deseret News. It's a painful injury that has left him listed as doubtful for Friday night's game.
Shaquille O'Neal, C, Phoenix SunsFriday 2/8, 9:48 AM CT
Shaquille O'Neal said he hopes to make his debut with the Suns before the All-Star break, according to the Arizona Republic. However, it won't happen this weekend, as he'll be back in Miami taking care of some personal affairs before returning to Phoenix on Sunday. Certainly, he'll practice next week, assuming his hip is up to it. But whether he wants to kick things off against the run-and-gun Warriors and Mavs is debatable. Stay tuned, but don't expect much from the Shaq Daddy until after the All-Star break.
Pau Gasol, F, Los Angeles LakersFriday 2/8, 9:35 AM CT
Although he hasn't missed a game since joining the Lakers, Pau Gasol still is dealing with soreness in his back, according to the LA Times. He said he plans to play in the final four games before the All-Star break, then take advantage of the hiatus to rest up. Keep him in your lineups.
Kobe Bryant, G, Los Angeles LakersFriday 2/8, 9:30 AM CT
Kobe Bryant received electro-stimulation and wore a bandage on his dislocated right pinkie finger on Thursday, according to the LA Times. However, he said he plans to play Friday evening with the digit taped to his ring finger. Obviously, that will have some affect on his outside shooting, but it looks like he'll tough it out and not miss any contests. However, he could skip the All-Star activities next weekend to get some added rest.
Erick Dampier, C, Dallas MavericksFriday 2/8, 9:20 AM CT
Erick Dampier is nursing a sprained right ankle. He'll have it examined on Friday to determine whether he will be able to lace up for the evening run against the Grizzlies, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Dampier only produces rebounds and some blocks, but he'll have to get medical clearance to provide those stats tonight.
Jerry Stackhouse, G, Dallas MavericksFriday 2/8, 9:16 AM CT
Jerry Stackhouse took part in his first full practice Thursday and is expected to return to game action on Friday, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. He has missed the past seven games due to a strained hamstring. Unless you are in a very deep league, this will have no relevance, because he carries little fantasy value.
Stephen Jackson, G, Golden State WarriorsFriday 2/8, 9:11 AM CT
Stephen Jackson admitted this week that he continued to battle through his hyperextended knee and sore left big toe last month, but he's recovered now, according to the Contra Costa Times. "I never want to make excuses, but I am finally healthy," Jackson said. "I finally feel healthy with my foot and my knee; I finally feel back to how I want them to be. My body's feeling stronger now." If you saw him play, it was pretty obvious he wasn't at full strength, especially on defense. He's shot over 50 percent each of his past three games, which is a good sign, particularly since he had recently dropped below 40 percent on the season.
Marcus Camby, C, Los Angeles ClippersFriday 2/8, 9:05 AM CT
Marcus Camby was sore Thursday after returning from his bruised left knee the night before, according to the Rocky Mountain News. "It held up for the most part," he said. "I was pretty sore (Thursday) morning, but I'll be out there (Friday)." Camby's always in injury risk and may have to rest his knees sporadically the rest of the season, but he's a fantasy freak on the boards and blocking shots, so his owners just have to live with his frailty.
Gerald Wallace, F, Charlotte BobcatsFriday 2/8, 8:58 AM CT
Gerald Wallace will return to the hardwood for Friday's run against the Nets, according to the Charlotte Observer. His fantasy owners should be happy that the oft-injured forward missed just two games due to his strained right foot. Let's hope he can stay healthy for a while now.
Caron Butler, F, Washington WizardsFriday 2/8, 8:47 AM CT
Caron Butler is listed as being day-to-day, but it's highly unlikely that he will take part in Friday's game because he was in severe discomfort after exiting Tuesday's contest, according to the Washington Post. He's battling a strained hip flexor and, realistically, won't play until after the All-Star break.
Jameer Nelson, G, Orlando MagicFriday 2/8, 8:35 AM CT
Jameer Nelson will return to the starting lineup on Friday, replacing Carlos Arroyo at the point, according to the Orlando Sentinel. "We'll go back to him," coach Stan Van Gundy said. Nelson can provide decent fantasy value when hot, and he'll get a chance to get back on his game now. He's on plenty of waiver wires at the moment and is worth picking up to see if he can get on a roll.
Udonis Haslem, F, Miami HeatFriday 2/8, 8:24 AM CT
Udonis Haslem will have his sprained ankle evaluated again over the weekend, according to the Miami Herald. It's unlikely that we'll see Haslem back on the hardwood before the All-Star break, but we should have a more definitive timeline for his return following his examination.
Jermaine O'Neal, F, Toronto RaptorsFriday 2/8, 8:14 AM CT
Jermaine O'Neal said that the Pacers are having trade talks with several teams, according to the New York Daily News. O'Neal added that he would gladly accept a trade to New York, where he would join his old coach, Isiah Thomas. O'Neal and Zeke have a lot of love for each other, but Pacers' head Larry Bird does not have any love for Zeke, so a deal to the Big Apple may be unlikely. O'Neal isn't playing right now due to his sore knee, which won't help the Pacers get much value for O'Neal, but there's a decent chance he gets dealt before the deadline.
Ben Gordon, G, Chicago BullsFriday 2/8, 8:03 AM CT
There's at least a chance that Ben Gordon could return to action for Saturday's game against the Jazz, according to the Chicago Tribune. Of course, there's been a chance he'd return for several games, but he's remained on the bench. There's a probably a more realistic chance that the Bulls will just sit him out until after the All-Star break to allow his ailing wrist to heal better.
Sam Cassell, G, Boston CelticsFriday 2/8, 7:28 AM CT
Sam Cassell denied a report in the Boston Globe Wednesday that he was trying to have his contract bought out by the Clippers so he could join the Celtics. "There's no truth to it," Cassell said. "I never said I wanted to buy out my contract. There have been no negotiations, the team hasn't come to me about that, I have not gone to them about that." The reporter, Marc J. Spears, stood by his story. Realistically, Cassell probably does want to have his contract bought out so he can leave the pathetic Clippers and provide a veteran presence at the point for a title contender, but he has to say the right things publicly. Stay tuned.
Theo Ratliff, F, Philadelphia 76ersFriday 2/8, 2:47 AM CT
Theo Ratliff, who has missed all but six games because of a right knee injury this year, practiced Wednesday and hopes to play by the end of the month, according to the Boston Globe. Ratliff continues to progress in his rehab from December knee surgery.
Joe Smith, F, Oklahoma City ThunderFriday 2/8, 2:40 AM CT
Joe Smith followed his strong Wednesday performance registering a team high 43 minutes, 27 points and eight rebounds in Thursday night's 114-108 victory over Golden State. Smith was 7-of-11 from the floor and 13-of-14 from the free throw line.
Tyrus Thomas, F, Chicago BullsFriday 2/8, 2:34 AM CT
Bulls power forward Tyrus Thomas helped Chicago to a much needed road win Thursday night at Golden State, scoring 13 of his 15 points in the final period as the Bulls scored on nine of 10 possessions down the stretch. Thomas came off the bench to add five rebounds in his 26 minutes of play.
Monta Ellis, G, Golden State WarriorsFriday 2/8, 2:26 AM CT
Golden State shooting guard Monta Ellis continued his consistent play leading the Warriors with 25 points in Thursday's loss to the Bulls. Ellis' 25 points was his 24th game of double digit scoring in his last 25 games. Ellis is a perfect fit in the Golden State offense and is a solid No. 2 guard option in most fantasy formats.
Baron Davis, G, Los Angeles ClippersFriday 2/8, 2:13 AM CT
Golden State guard Baron Davis struggled in Thursday's 114-108 loss to the Bulls. Davis' 8-for-24 outing combined with teammate Stephen Jackson's 6-of-19 performance negated any chance the Warriors has Thursday night. Davis continues to be inconsistent and while he scored 22 points, his poor field goal percentage and his five point outing on February 1st against Charlotte has fantasy owners wondering about his health.
Al Harrington, F, Golden State WarriorsFriday 2/8, 2:02 AM CT
Golden State's forward Al Harrington was the one positive for the Warriors in Thursday's loss to the Bulls. Harrington scored 20 points hitting four 3-pointers in a 8-for-16 shooting performance. The shooting forward losses fantasy value due to the signing of Chris Weber -- losing both minutes and scoring opportunities.
Chris Webber, F, Friday 2/8, 1:56 AM CT
Warriors forward Chris Webber had four points and two assists in 12 minutes of action Thursday night. In his first game with Golden State since the former No. 1 overall draft pick forced a trade after his rookie season more than 13 years ago, Webber wore an orange headband and his familiar No. 4. Webber played just 13 minutes registering four points and one rebound in the 114-108 loss to the Bulls.
Luol Deng, G, Chicago BullsFriday 2/8, 1:50 AM CT
Bulls forward Luol Deng, who is fighting a nagging Achilles' injury, is expected to miss another one-to-three weeks of court time. Chicago's coaching staff have been verbal about not rushing the young forward. Chicago coach Jim Boylan said of the three "Did not play's" in Thursday win over the Warriors, Deng's left heel injury is the most serious. Starting guard Kirk Hinrich has bruised ribs and guard Ben Gordon has a sprained right wrist. Before Thursday's game, Boylan said he wouldn't be surprised if his club finishes its road trip at Utah on Saturday without all three injured starters.
Kirk Hinrich, G, Chicago BullsFriday 2/8, 1:42 AM CT
Bulls starting guard Kirk Hinrich was inactive for Chicago's Thursday night game against the Warriors due to sore ribs. Hinrich, who's averaging 13 points, six assists and 3.5 rebounds, was injured in Chicago's 118-108 victory at Seattle on Monday night. It is Hinrich's second straight DNF and Chicago coach Jim Boylan said after the Bulls win Thursday night he didn't expect the ex-Jayhawk to dress Saturday night in Utah.
Ben Gordon, G, Chicago BullsFriday 2/8, 1:36 AM CT
Chicago guard Ben Gordon registered another DNF Thursday night due to a sprained right wrist. Gordon is not expected to fully practice until sometime next week and shouldn't be starting in fantasy lineups until he's able to string together two 30-plus minute performances.
Victor Khryapa, F, Friday 2/8, 1:32 AM CT
Despite the Bulls current injury woes, Chicago waived forward Victor Khryapa on Thursday. Khryapa played in just nine games for Chicago this season.
Chris Duhon, G, New York KnicksFriday 2/8, 1:26 AM CT
Chicago shooting guard Chris Duhon scored a career-high 34 points as the shorthanded Bulls found the win column in a 114-108 victory against the Warriors on Thursday night. Duhon's 11-of-16 shooting, four 3-pointers and nine assists led the Bulls to a much needed win.
Shane Battier, F, Houston RocketsFriday 2/8, 1:19 AM CT
Houston forward Shane Battier was more involved offensively with the Rockets leading scorer, Tracy McGrady, limited by an illness on Thursday night. Battier hit three 3-pointers on his way to 15 points in the Houston's 92-77 win over the Cavs. Battier registered 15 points and added eight rebounds in his extended role Thursday. The shooting forward averages over 35 minutes a game but his fantasy value is limited when McGrady, Yao Ming and Rafer Alston are all healthy.
Zydrunas Ilgauskas, C, Cleveland CavaliersFriday 2/8, 1:07 AM CT
Cleveland center Zydrunas Ilgauskas struggled to find his stroke in Thursday's loss to the Rockets. Ilgauskas was held to eight points and eight rebounds, far below his recent average of over 20 points in the teams last two games.
Rafer Alston, G, Houston RocketsFriday 2/8, 1:01 AM CT
Rockets point guard Rafer Alston just missed a double-double in Thursday's 92-77 win over Cleveland. Alston scored 17 points and registered nine assists in the victory. Alston, who added five rebounds, has been outstanding since McGrady returned from injury, averaging 8.2 assists over the team's last five games.
Luther Head, G, Houston RocketsFriday 2/8, 12:56 AM CT
Rockets point guard Luther Head was inactive for the third consecutive game with a strained groin. Head has limited fantasy value in a reserve role behind Tracy McGrady and Rafer Alston.
Daniel Gibson, G, Cleveland CavaliersFriday 2/8, 12:49 AM CT
Cleveland point guard Daniel Gibson left in the fourth quarter of Thursday's loss to the Rockets with a strained right hamstring. Gibson who averages over 32 minutes and 11 points a game could only muster five points in 19 minutes, and didn't register a single assist the entire game. Gibson will be re-evaluated Friday morning to determine his status for the Atlanta game.
Donyell Marshall, F, Philadelphia 76ersFriday 2/8, 12:34 AM CT
Cleveland veteran forward Donyell Marshall started for the injured Drew Gooden (groin) in Thursday night's 92-77 loss to the Houston Rockets. It was Marshall's first start since the 2004-05 season. The Cavs forward registered six points and five rebounds in 24 minutes of floor time.
Anderson Varejao, F, Cleveland CavaliersFriday 2/8, 12:27 AM CT
Cleveland was playing their fifth straight game without Anderson Varejao, who was inactive in Thursday's 92-77 loss to Houston with a sprained left ankle. Varejao averages 8.5 boards per game, an area the Rockets dominated in the Thursday victory. Varejao is not expected to play in Friday's game at Atlanta.
Drew Gooden, F, Chicago BullsFriday 2/8, 12:19 AM CT
Cleveland sorely missed Drew Gooden in Thursday's 92-77 loss to the Rockets. Gooden, the second-leading rebounder for the Cavs, was inactive due to a groin injury. It was the first game Gooden has missed this season. In Gooden's absence Houston outrebounded the Cavs 55-35.
Yao Ming, C, Houston RocketsFriday 2/8, 12:14 AM CT
Yao Ming registered 22 points and 12 rebounds in the Rockets' 92-77 victory over Cleveland on Thursday night, their ninth win in 10 games. Ming led Houston on the backboard as the Rockets outrebounded the Cavs 55-35. Cleveland recorded a porous seven offensive boards.
LeBron James, F, Cleveland CavaliersFriday 2/8, 12:07 AM CT
LeBron James recorded 32 points and seven rebounds as the Cavaliers were pummeled by the Houston Rockets 92-77. The Rockets held every Cleveland hoopster but James to a dismal shooting performance. James went 12-for-23. The rest of the team went 19-for-55.
Tracy McGrady, G, Houston RocketsFriday 2/8, 12:01 AM CT
Tracy McGrady, who was considered a game time decision due to a "severe upper respiratory infection", was visibly limited throughout Thursday's win over the Cavs scoring just eight points on 3-of-11 shooting. McGrady expects to be back in the starting lineup when the Rockets host Atlanta on Saturday night.
