Eddie Jones, G, Dallas MavericksSunday 2/10, 11:18 PM CT
Remember the Eddie Jones that was a fantasy stud in Miami? Well, it's obvious that Jones himself forgot that player's production. Jones may start, but the 37-year old is very inefficient with his 20-some minutes. The player/coach has zero fantasy value at this point in his career -- even as a sub-starter in Dallas. In the Mavs 101-82 loss to the Nets Sunday night, Jones was 0-of-3 from the field with four rebounds and one assist -- this in 21 minutes of court time.
Dirk Nowitzki, F, Dallas MavericksSunday 2/10, 11:10 PM CT
Teams will take note of what New Jersey did to Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki on Sunday night. Nets' Josh Boone and rookie Sean Williams hounded Nowitzki limiting the All-Star to 21 points on a miserable 4-of-16 shooting performance. Nowitzki, who scored 11 points in the opening quarter could only muster 10 points in the final three. The Dallas go-to forward recorded eight rebounds and four assists in a losing effort. When it comes to dogging a player that scores 21 points and misses a double-double by only two rebounds -- one knows expectations are high for that player. Nowitzki is such a player, and in the "Duh" category, is a must start as long as the German can dress.
Josh Howard, F, Dallas MavericksSunday 2/10, 10:06 PM CT
Josh Howard struggled to find the bottom of the net in Sunday's 101-82 loss in New Jersey. He found a way to score 16 points on 7-of-18 shooting from the field. Howard was very inefficient in his 39 minutes fielding but four rebounds with zero assists.
Jerry Stackhouse, G, Dallas MavericksSunday 2/10, 9:51 PM CT
Jerry Stackhouse was held out of the lineup on Sunday because of a hamstring injury. He had played on Friday after missing seven straight games. Stack is considered day-to-day according to team sources.
Jason Williams, G, Miami HeatSunday 2/10, 9:46 PM CT
Jason Williams scored 10 points and registered two rebounds and two assists in Sunday's 104-92 loss to the Lakers. The inconsistent Williams is bench fodder in traditional fantasy formats. His inefficient stat lines are frustrating and his lack of assists with Dwayne Wade and newly acquired Shawn Marion is unacceptable.
Dorell Wright, F, Miami HeatSunday 2/10, 9:41 PM CT
Dorell Wright scored 15 points and registered seven rebounds and three assists Sunday in a loss to the Lakers. Wright could be considered short-term solution in larger leagues, but once Udonis Haslem returns in 2-3 weeks Wright has little-to-no fantasy worth, especially with the addition of forward Shawn Marion.
Mark Blount, C, Miami HeatSunday 2/10, 9:20 PM CT
Mark Blount continues to produce in the absence of Shaquille O'Neal. Blount had a team-high 22 points in Sunday's loss to the Lakers. The starting center was 9-for-15 from the field and added five rebounds, two blocks and a steal. Blount isn't the rebounder that Shaq was or is, but he's been a solid waiver wire addition for fantasy owners this season.
Dwyane Wade, G, Miami HeatSunday 2/10, 8:54 PM CT
Dwyane Wade scored 19 points, registered nine assists and five rebounds in Sunday's 104-94 loss to the Lakers. Wade is struggled to find a groove in the team's new rotation. Wade had nine turnovers Sunday, and now has 19 in his last three games. Wade did record four steals and remains a must start even playing for the dismal Heat and with his recent ill advised decisions.
Vladimir Radmanovic, F, Los Angeles LakersSunday 2/10, 8:44 PM CT
Vladimir Radmanovic struggled in the Lakers 104-94 win Sunday. The forward shot 3-for-9 from the field, scoring seven points in 19 minutes. Radmanovic's fantasy stock has dropped with the addition of Pau Gasol to the Lakers rotation.
Derek Fisher, G, Los Angeles LakersSunday 2/10, 8:35 PM CT
Derek Fisher was held under 10 points in the Lakers win Sunday at Miami. Fisher recorded a soft seven points with two rebounds, only one assist and steal. Fisher had been on a productive three-game run this week, scoring 28, 17 and 14 in this last thee games.
Pau Gasol, F, Los Angeles LakersSunday 2/10, 8:30 PM CT
Pau Gasol shot 4-for-10 from the field and finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds during Sunday's win in Miami. He added two assists and a steal in a less than stellar performance.
Lamar Odom, F, Los Angeles LakersSunday 2/10, 8:09 PM CT
Lamar Odom owned the backboards on Sunday recording 18 rebounds in the Lakers 104-94 win in Miami. Odom also scored 15 points and added six assists in the victory.
Kobe Bryant, G, Los Angeles LakersSunday 2/10, 8:05 PM CT
Kobe Bryant scored 33 points, and the Los Angeles Lakers used a 16-2 second-half run beat the Heat 104-94 Sunday in Miami. Bryant was 10-15 from the field and 11-11 at the line.
Shawn Marion, F, Miami HeatSunday 2/10, 7:51 PM CT
Shawn Marion scored 15 points and recorded 14 rebounds in his first appearance with the Miami Heat Sunday. Marion couldn't do it all himself Sunday as the Lakers beat the Heat 104-94 in Miami. It was the team's first home game of its post-Shaquille O'Neal era. Miami has now lost 22 of their last 23 games.
Jamaal Tinsley, G, Indiana PacersSunday 2/10, 3:28 PM CT
Jamaal Tinsley will be sidelined until after the All-Star game because of his injured knee. "They saw some inflammation in (the knee)," Tinsley said after an MRI was performed. "It's something they say will have me out a couple of more games, hopefully until right after the All-Star break, but I really don't know right now." Tinsley has already missed five of the last 11 games with the injury, and though he is shooting just 38.0% from the field, it certainly is darn near impossible to replace the 8.4 assists he has averaged through 39 games this season. Indianapolis Star
Gerald Wallace, F, Charlotte BobcatsSunday 2/10, 3:24 PM CT
Gerald Wallace will likely miss the Bobcats game on on Sunday night against the Pistons, the result of a sprained right foot that has kept him out of two of the past three games. Wallace has been the leader of the Bobcats this season, and given their current record of 18-32, the team has little chance without him in the lineup. Look for Jason Richardson to try and fill the scoring void. Charlotte Observer
Manu Ginobili, G, San Antonio SpursSunday 2/10, 3:00 PM CT
Manu Ginobili scored 21 points including making 5-of-11 three point attempts in the Spurs loss on Sunday. Manu also tossed in four rebounds and four assists, but those six turnovers were certainly enough to put a damper on his line. Though he is scoring, rebounding and dishing out assists at a career best clip (19.1, 4.8 and 4.5), Ginobili is also turning the ball over 2.8 times per game, a career-worst mark, while shooting the ball at a 43.5% clip, his work percentage since his second season in 2003-04. You just have to take the good with the bad.
Tim Duncan, C, San Antonio SpursSunday 2/10, 2:55 PM CT
Tim Duncan scored 22 points, added 14 rebounds and dished six assists for the Spurs on Sunday. Duncan continues to do what he has always done and that is put up double-double with mind numbing consistency since he's only been doing it for 11 years now.
Paul Pierce, F, Boston CelticsSunday 2/10, 2:53 PM CT
Paul Pierce scored 35 points to lead a Kevin Garnett-less Celtics team to a 98-90 victory over the Spurs. Ray Allen added 19 and Rajon Rondo had 11 rebounds and 12 assists. Pierce has hit a bit of a rough patch of late averaging just 17 points a contest before this explosion.
Ben Gordon, G, Chicago BullsSunday 2/10, 2:01 PM CT
Ben Gordon will have an MRI on Monday to take a look at what might be wrong with his injured wrist, something that has kept him out out of the past three games. Gordon is the Bulls leading scorer at 20 points a game, and the Bulls certainly miss his instant offense. Stay tuned for the results of the test. AP
Kevin Garnett, F, Boston CelticsSunday 2/10, 1:30 PM CT
Kevin Garnett appears almost certain to miss the upcoming All-Star game after sitting out a seventh straight game with strained stomach muscle. "We don't know that yet," HC Doc Rivers said. However, he also added this. "I just don't see that happening." Whether or not he plays in the game is obviously of little concern. Garnett is the anchor of any fantasy team he plays on so his return to the lineup is vital to those teams' chances of winning, so keep an eye on reports for his return as the Celtics have gone 5-2 in their last seven games. AP
Chris Webber, F, Golden State WarriorsSunday 2/10, 12:46 PM CT
Chris Webber will only play center moving forward according to HC Don Nelson. "Everything works better for me, at least in my mind, if I kind of make (Webber) a (center) as opposed to a (power forward)," Nelson said. "That's an idea. I'm going to look at that, and hope that's what's going to work best for us." Of course, Nelson changes his mind about as frequently as the Warriors change ends of the court at halftime, so there is no telling if this move will hold long-term. Hopefully Webber will get in enough games to become Center eligible which will add to his limited value. Contra Costa Times
Kevin Martin, G, Sacramento KingsSunday 2/10, 8:24 AM CT
Kevin Martin has been a scoring whiz for the Kings this season pouring in 23.3 points per game, but for the second time in three nights he was held to single digits as he made just 3-of-16 shots on his way to nine points against the Warriors. Martin was also 1-for-5 on three points and 2-for-4 from the line in an all-around poor performance. Strangely enough, if you remove those two single digit games, Martin has gone for at least 22 in his last six games.
Chris Kaman, C, Los Angeles ClippersSunday 2/10, 8:18 AM CT
Chris Kaman hauled in 11 boards in Saturday but he made only two shots on his way to a measly four points in the Clippers loss. Kaman has been a wonder this season and since returning from the flu this was his first stinker of a game. Look for him to return to his double-double ways next time out.
Chris Paul, G, New Orleans HornetsSunday 2/10, 8:14 AM CT
Chris Paul dished out 16 assists against the Grizzlies but he scored a mere two points to follow up a 42 point outing the game before as he went 1-for-10 from the field. Well, 44 points in two games still leaves Paul with a higher average in those outings than he has all season (20.4). Still, this type of inconsistency scoring is odd for Paul though he does have three single digit scoring games in his last eight efforts.
Ron Artest, F, Sacramento KingsSunday 2/10, 12:12 AM CT
Ron Artest scored 21 points and added 13 rebounds and two assists on Saturday night though he missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer that would have sent the game in OT. Artest has now gone over 20-points in five straight games with a only one game during that streak covering less than 37 minutes played.
Monta Ellis, G, Golden State WarriorsSunday 2/10, 12:09 AM CT
Monta Ellis led the Warriors with 34 points, including a big-time 16 in the 4th quarter, as the Warriors defeated the Kings. Ellis has made 23 of his last 26 shots and is hot as a pistol right now with three straight games of at least 21 points and he has scored at least 16 points in each of the last eight games.
