The former Sun, Shawn Marion, scored 23 points for the second straight night in yet another loss for the Heat. Kirk Hinrich dropped 24 points Thursday night to lead the Chicago Bulls to a 99-92 victory over Miami. It was the Heat's 24th loss in 25 games. Hinrich, who came off the bench for the second consecutive game registering 33 minutes, will return to the starting lineup after the All Star break.
Kobe Bryant, G, Los Angeles LakersThursday 2/14, 8:02 PM CT
The Los Angeles Times reports that Kobe Bryant sustained a torn ligament in his right pinkie, and after visiting hand specialist Steven Shin in Los Angeles today, has decided to try to play through the injury instead of undergoing surgery. The surgery would sideline the All Star guard for at least six weeks. As of today not only is Bryant questionable for the All Star game on Sunday, a timetable for his return has not been determined.
Devean George, G, Dallas MavericksThursday 2/14, 7:54 PM CT
Devean George has all but engraved his tombstone in Dallas. The disgruntled forward, who was complaining just last week about playing time, has made up his mind, he's not accepting a trade to New Jersey reports NJ.com. "His client is willing to endure the boos and slings and arrows to stay put," his agent told the paper. George has some delusional belief that the Maverick fans will get over him blocking a trade that would have sent Nets point guard Jason Kidd to Dallas. The only way the Dallas clans don't hunt George down and stalk him at ever opportunity is if the Mavs win the NBA title.
Austin Croshere, F, Milwaukee BucksThursday 2/14, 4:49 PM CT
Austin Croshere returned to action Wednesday night, but failed to score in seven minutes of action. Croshere, who before last night had last played Jan.16 in Indiana, continues to fight through lower back pain. The addition of Chris Webber to the Golden State roster negates any fantasy value Croshere might have had.
Josh Howard, G, Dallas MavericksThursday 2/14, 2:59 PM CT
Josh Howard's back injury will keep him out of the lineup again tonight, according to the Dallas Morning News. It will be the second straight game he's missed, but he should be good to go after the All-Star break.
Andrei Kirilenko, F, Utah JazzThursday 2/14, 2:56 PM CT
Andrei Kirilenko has been playing with a toe injury recently. He had just eight points, three rebounds and one assist in last night's game. "He's had a toe that's been bothering him," coach Jerry Sloan said in the Deseret Morning News, "but maybe the rest will give him a chance to recover a bit." Kirilenko hasn't played too well lately, so maybe now we know why. Hopefully he'll have a chance to heal over the break.
Shaquille O'Neal, C, Phoenix SunsThursday 2/14, 2:55 PM CT
Shaquille ONeal will not make his debut on Thursday night, according to the Tuscon Citizen. The organization has decided to give the veteran center another week of rest and rehab before suiting up for the Los Angeles Lakers, the Suns' first post-break game Wednesday.
Rashard Lewis, F, Orlando MagicThursday 2/14, 10:19 AM CT
Rashard Lewis says that he would like to get a few more touches on offense, according to the Orlando Sentinel. "I'm not the type that likes to complain, especially when we're winning ball games," Lewis said. "We're 11 games over .500 and leading our division, but sometimes it is uncomfortable and I do get upset sometimes. "But the most important thing in the end is winning ballgames. As long as we can get the win, it doesn't matter if I shoot two or 20 times. If we get the loss, then I'm upset." Lewis is averaging 18.3 PPG and 5.2 RPG this season.
Caron Butler, F, Washington WizardsThursday 2/14, 10:15 AM CT
Wizards forward Caron Butler missed his sixth straight game with a strained left hip flexor Wednesday night and also will sit out the All-Star Game on Sunday in New Orleans, according to the Washington Post. "I'm feeling better, but it's still not at the point where I can go out there and play with confidence that I'm not going to hurt it again and have it turn into a long-term problem," Butler said. "I'm looking at it like, if I can take this week and rest it and work on it with one of the [athletic] trainers, I'll be good to go when we come back."
Daniel Gibson, G, Cleveland CavaliersThursday 2/14, 10:03 AM CT
Daniel Gibson, who missed the past three games with a strained right hamstring, was cleared to play Wednesday, but Cavs coach Mike Brown held him out, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Gibson will compete in the rookie-sophomore game and the 3-point shooting contest during this weekend's All-Star festivities.
Kobe Bryant, G, Los Angeles LakersThursday 2/14, 9:40 AM CT
Kobe Bryant jammed his finger during the second quarter of Wednesday night's game and it began to swell, according to the Los Angeles Daily News. Bryant is scheduled to visit a hand specialist today in Los Angeles, and it's possible he could sit out the All-Star Game this weekend in New Orleans. He said he would attend no matter what the doctor says today, but he might not play. "We'd like him not to play," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said.
Tyrus Thomas, F, Chicago BullsThursday 2/14, 9:37 AM CT

Kendrick Perkins, C, Boston CelticsThursday 2/14, 9:27 AM CT
Kendrick Perkins missed his third straight game with a left shoulder strain on Wednesday, according to the Boston Globe. "Each day, I'm feeling a little better," he said. "I'm trying to work on my conditioning and taking it one day at a time." Asked if he thought he'd be ready to play after the All-Star break, Perkins said, "I hope so. But I'm not going to rush it. I want to make sure it's right so I don't worry about it when I'm on the court."
Glen Davis, F, Boston CelticsThursday 2/14, 9:23 AM CT
Glen Davis left the arena on crutches after injuring his left quadriceps with five minutes left in the first half of last night's game, according to the Boston Globe. He will have an MRI today. "It hurts bad," he said. "We'll see [today]." Celtics coach Doc Rivers said he thought it was a twisted knee.
Josh Childress, F, Thursday 2/14, 9:16 AM CT
Hawks swingman Josh Childress has a bone bruise on his right knee and didn't play in Wednesday's game against the Bobcats, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Childress hyperextended his knee late in the third quarter of Tuesday's loss to Detroit. "He'll get it evaluated again Monday [the day Hawks depart for a five-game road trip]," Hawks coach Mike Woodson said, "and we'll see how it goes from there."
Jermaine O'Neal, F, Toronto RaptorsThursday 2/14, 12:56 AM CT
Jermaine ONeal likely won't be traded this season because of continued concerns over his knee according to a report in the Star Ledger. Rumors are circulating that he could be moved to the Nets for Vince Carter, but with the whole Jason Kidd scenario also in play, it's virtually impossible to discern how this will play out.
Antonio Daniels, G, Washington WizardsThursday 2/14, 12:19 AM CT
Antonio Daniels, who missed the team's last two games with ankle spurs, scored nine points, pulled down eight rebounds and registered seven assists in 46 minutes Wednesday. Daniels has been playing through injuries the entire season and looking at his performance against the Clips, the two-game vacation is just what the doctor ordered. The Wizards point guard doesn't offer fantasy owners in traditional formats much -- but his health is key to Washington push for a spot in postseason play.
Antawn Jamison, F, Washington WizardsThursday 2/14, 12:07 AM CT
Antawn Jamison continues to dominate regardless of the Wizards opponent. Jamison dropped 25 points, 10 rebounds and one assist Monday at Golden State; and followed that stellar performance with 29 points and nine rebounds in Wednesday's win over the Clips. Jamison just missed his third straight double-double.
