Amare Stoudemire, C, Phoenix SunsTuesday 3/11, 11:34 PM CT
In an offensive display of gaudy proportions, the Suns' Amare Stoudemire led Phoenix to an astounding 132-111 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, scoring 29 points with 13 rebounds, four assists, and a steal. Getting Amare working his proper position by trading for Shaq Fu has helped tremendously. Stoudemire is much more comfortable and posting the best numbers of his season.
Drew Gooden, F, Chicago BullsTuesday 3/11, 10:32 PM CT
Drew Gooden enjoyed one of his best nights in recent memory, scoring 24 points with 10 rebounds, five assists, three blocks, and a steal in leading the Bulls to an impressive 108-96 win over the Utah Jazz. Gooden can't be counted on night in, night out, but he's playing well for Chicago and seems to have found a small groove since joining the Bulls. He's not an optimal fantasy option, but he's not a bad guy for your bench as the season winds down.
Mehmet Okur, C, Utah JazzTuesday 3/11, 10:27 PM CT
Utah C Mehmet Okur enjoyed a fantastic statistical performance in the midst of the 96-108 loss to the Chicago Bulls. Okur posted 22 points with 18 rebounds, but it was all for naught as the Jazz fall in what should have been an easy win. Okur has this ability but lacks the consistency to keep fantasy owners happy. He's getting tall minutes these days, so we can hope for progress towards better days, starting here.
Sebastian Telfair, G, Minnesota TimberwolvesTuesday 3/11, 10:15 PM CT
The MRI Sebastian Telfair had taken of his left ankle revealed only a sprain, according to the AP. He's expected to miss at least the next 7-10 days, so keep him pined for now.
Nick Young, G/F, Washington WizardsTuesday 3/11, 10:09 PM CT
Rookie Nick Young racked up a career-best 22 points on Tuesday night. Young has now scored in double-digits and hit two triples each of the past four games. He could have some short-term value in deeper leagues until Gilbert Arenas and Caron Butler finally return from their injuries.
Andrew Bynum, C, Los Angeles LakersTuesday 3/11, 10:07 PM CT
Lakers center Andrew Bynum ran on a treadmill Tuesday for the first time since injuring his left knee, according to the Associated Press. Bynum ran for 20 minutes on a new $75,000 treadmill that simulates low gravity situations. A player can run without the pounding he would normally experience on a regular treadmill or on the court, which gives his legs a break. Black said Bynum ran at 60-65 percent of his body weight. Lakers spokesman John Black said no timetable has been set for Bynum's return, adding: "We set a minimum of eight weeks. We didn't set a maximum." This is good news for Laker fans. Getting Bynum back will only improve an already-strong team ready for the challenge for the league title.
Chris Duhon, G, Chicago BullsTuesday 3/11, 10:00 PM CT
Chris Duhon has been suspended by the team for tonight's game against the Utah Jazz, according to ChicagoSports.com. Duhon was fined for missing Sunday's shootaround in Michigan and then making flip comments about the incident, and now the punishment continues on Tuesday night as he lands on the inactive list for the Utah Jazz game. Interim coach Jim Boylan said the move was his decision.
Desmond Mason, G, Milwaukee BucksTuesday 3/11, 8:36 PM CT
Desmond Mason was forced to exit Tuesday's game with a bruised knee, according to the AP. However, he was able to return to action and finished with five points, five dimes and six boards. Mason only has value for those in the deepest of leagues.
Eric Snow, G, Cleveland CavaliersTuesday 3/11, 8:33 PM CT
Eric Snow will be sidelined for the next four to six weeks due to his ongoing knee problems, according to the AP. That all but certainly will end his regular season. Snow missed the start of the season due to knee surgery, and he's still dealing with tendinitis in the joint. Considering he was averaging exactly one point per game this season, he won't be missed in Fantasyland.
Willie Green, G, Philadelphia 76ersTuesday 3/11, 2:31 PM CT
Willie Green will reportedly miss at least two games due to his lower back strain, according to the Philadelphia Enquirer. He is averaging 13 points per game this season.
Sebastian Telfair, G, Minnesota TimberwolvesTuesday 3/11, 1:32 PM CT
Sebastian Telfair is having a precautionary MRI on his sprained ankle and is expected to miss seven-to-ten days of action, according to the AP. Coach Randy Wittman stated, "It’s going to be pretty slow. Even if the exam comes back that there’s nothing wrong, it’s a pretty significant ankle injury. He’s not going to be up here all of a sudden practicing.”
Manu Ginobili, G, San Antonio SpursTuesday 3/11, 10:50 AM CT
Manu Ginobili is not expected to miss any time due to his thigh contusion, this according to San Antonio Express News. He stated, "The thigh is good. One of the many you get all season long. It was higher on the thigh, and when you get hit like that, it really hurts the first five minutes to 10 minutes. Then it kind of starts loosening up. You stretch a little bit, and it's fine."
Daniel Gibson, G, Cleveland CavaliersTuesday 3/11, 10:37 AM CT
Daniel Gibson hopes to return in 10-14 days, which would be ahead of schedule, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He made good progress on his injured ankle and stated, "I'm looking forward to playing again. I'm able to get on the court and shoot, and that's been good. I've started jogging. I'm geeked. I'm ready to get out there." Gibson averaged 11.5 points over 48 games this season.
Marcus Camby, C, Denver NuggetsTuesday 3/11, 9:49 AM CT
Marcus Camby will be re-evaluated today after suffered a right hip injury during the first half of action Monday night, but he was able to finish the game, so that is a good sign. This according to the Denver Post.
Chris Bosh, F, Toronto RaptorsTuesday 3/11, 9:07 AM CT
Chris Bosh will not play Tuesday night, and likely longer, according to The Toronto Star. Bosh has made progress but he has stated, "I am no further along than I was on the weekend and my days are spent mainly getting treatment. My most physical work is riding a stationary bike." The team starts a tough five game road trip tonight, and need their star player back.
Caron Butler, F, Washington WizardsTuesday 3/11, 8:47 AM CT
Caron Butler won't return on Tuesday, according to the Washington Post. He is improving however, and may return as early as Thursday.
Ben Wallace, C, Cleveland CavaliersTuesday 3/11, 8:20 AM CT
Ben Wallace has been slowed by back spasms, according to The Plain Dealer. He was not performing well on Monday night and called it quits in the second quarter due to the ailment. He hoped that his back would loosen up but it never did. This is not the first time his back has given him a problem this season, so he remains a risk going forward.
