Shawn Marion, F, Miami HeatWednesday 3/12, 11:54 PM CT
With Dwyane Wade out and the team all but done for the year, Shawn Marion posted a double-double in support of a 91-88 loss for the Miami Heat to the NY Knicks. Marion gathered 15 points with 17 rebounds, adding two assists, a steal, and a block. This is what Marion wanted in leaving Phoenix: Numbers, numbers numbers.
Antonio McDyess, F, Detroit PistonsWednesday 3/12, 11:50 PM CT
On a night when the Pistons fell flat and failed to do much of note, Antonio McDyess posted a rare double-double in the Pistons' 82-83 loss to the Sixers. McDyess racked up 14 points with 11 rebounds, adding three blocks along the way. McDyess is hit or miss for fantasy owners but tonight's game is a nice break from the typically average veteran.
Paul Pierce, F, Boston CelticsWednesday 3/12, 11:45 PM CT
Paul Pierce posted a double-double in the Celtics' 111-82 win over Seattle this evening, scoring 14 points with 11 assists and five rebounds, adding two steals and a block. Pierce rarely hits double digits in anything but scoring, thus tonight's performance is a nice bonus for fantasy owners (but it won't be the start of a trend).
Josh Smith, F, Atlanta HawksWednesday 3/12, 10:49 PM CT
Josh Smith did his best to keep the Hawks in the win column, but his marvelous personal performance failed to result in a W. Smith scored 16 points with a whopping 22 rebounds, adding two assists, two steals, and a block. Smith has been a great fantasy commodity for many this season and he continues to improve his overall game. Getting the Hawks on track is priority , but we can all enjoy the fantasy rewards along the way.
LeBron James, F, Cleveland CavaliersWednesday 3/12, 10:42 PM CT
LeBron James enjoyed another productive night at the office, but the result was a troubling loss to a lackluster club. The Cavs lost 99-104 to the New Jersey Nets as James scored 42 points with 11 rebounds and seven assists. The numbers will keep fantasy owners happy, but the loss shows why this team will struggle against almost any west-coast team on the plate.
Dirk Nowitzki, F, Dallas MavericksWednesday 3/12, 10:38 PM CT
In the Mavs' 118-93 win over Charlotte, Dirk Nowitzki served as the catalyst for all things offensive, scoring 26 points with nine rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Nowitzki has taken some time to get chemistry working with new PG Jason Kidd and the numbers have shown little-to-no improvement since that trade. Dirk is always going to post numbers, but the hope that accompanied the trade for Kidd has yet to materialize in reality.
Deron Williams, G, Utah JazzWednesday 3/12, 10:33 PM CT
Deron Williams led the charge in a tough-fought 114-110 win for the Utah Jazz this evening, putting the Bucks in the loss column with 26 points and 13 assists. This is Deron's ninth consecutive double-double and his 41st of the season, serving as one of the top statistical guards in the game today.
Chris Paul, G, New Orleans HornetsWednesday 3/12, 10:28 PM CT
Chris Paul may not garner the attention for the award, but nothing is stopping his MVP-worthy season on the court. Tonight the wunderguard scored 26 points with 17 assists to lead the way for the Hornets' 100-75 win over the San Antonio Spurs. That's four consecutive double-double performances for Paul, and there is no reason to believe he will slow.
Dwight Howard, F, Orlando MagicWednesday 3/12, 10:23 PM CT
Dwight Howard's magic season continues, posting his 57th double-double of the year with 22 points and 13 rebounds against the Clippers with a 110-88 win. Howard has been an absolute stud this season, the top big man in the game. Those fantasy owners that made the leap of faith on draft day have been fully rewarded for their dedication, and the sky is the limit from here.
