Laveranues Coles, WR, New York JetsThursday 11/1, 11:59 PM CT
Laveranues Coles missed another practice Thursday and his status is very iffy for Sunday's game with Washington. He's coming off a concussion late in Week 8's loss to the Bills. Brad Smith and Justin McCareins will see extra playing time if Coles can't go on game day.
Karlos Dansby, LB, Arizona CardinalsThursday 11/1, 11:57 PM CT
Karlos Dansby (knee) took part in limited practice on Thursday and said he might be able to play in another week, the AP reports. "It felt great, man. I'm on track," Dansby said. "I haven't had any setbacks. I'm probably a week away. I'm not sure yet, but I feel good out there running around."
Dwight Freeney, DE, Indianapolis ColtsThursday 11/1, 11:51 PM CT

Marvin Harrison (knee) missed his second straight practice Thursday, leaving his weekend status very much in question. The Colts had originally expected that Harrison would work Thursday.
Chris McAlister, CB, Baltimore RavensThursday 11/1, 11:44 PM CT
Chris McAlister seems unlikely to return from a knee injury against the Steelers Monday, the AP reports. He hasn't practiced all week. "We'll have to see how the week progresses, but that would be the one I'm most concerned about," head coach Brian Billick said.
Ronald Curry, WR, Oakland RaidersThursday 11/1, 11:42 PM CT
Ronald Curry was limited in Thursday's practice but is expected to play against Houston, the AP reports. He'll also be catching passes from a new quarterback, as Josh McCown is back in the saddle for Oakland this weekend.
Josh McCown, QB, Carolina PanthersThursday 11/1, 11:33 PM CT
Josh McCown will start Sunday against Houston, the AP reports. McCown, Oakland's opening day starter, replaces Daunte Culpepper, who has struggled to move the offense in recent weeks after taking over for McCown in Week 4.
Rudi Johnson, RB, Detroit LionsThursday 11/1, 12:07 PM CT
Rudi Johnson , who had more missed games (three) than carries (two) in the month of October, returned to practice Wednesday. “I’m going to go out and play just like I normally play,” Johnson told the Cincinnati Enquirer. “That’s why I made sure I was going to come back 100 percent before I stepped onto the field…. My leg is fine."
Daniel Wilcox, TE, Baltimore RavensThursday 11/1, 11:34 AM CT
Tight end Daniel Wilcox did not return to practice with the team on Thursday as they prepared for their Monday night game against the Steelers, according to the Baltimore Sun. Wilcox has missed three straight games, and five total, after suffering an ankle injury in week one and tweaking it in week four.
Frank Gore, RB, San Francisco 49ersThursday 11/1, 11:32 AM CT

Reggie Bush, RB, New Orleans SaintsThursday 11/1, 11:18 AM CT
Saints running back Reggie Bush was able to participate in a full practice Wednesday, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. He suffered a rib injury during Sunday’s game with the 49ers. Expect Bush to be listed as probable on the injury report, if he is even on there at all.
L.J. Smith, TE, Philadelphia EaglesThursday 11/1, 11:02 AM CT
L.J. Smith plans to be more involved in the offense this week after being limited during Sunday’s win over the Vikings. “Maybe the coaches were leery of giving me 45 snaps right off the bat,” Smith told the Philadelphia Daily News. “I hope to contribute more this week.” Smith returned last week after missing time with a hernia problem.
Michael Bush, RB, Oakland RaidersThursday 11/1, 10:56 AM CT
Michael Bush strapped on the pads for the first time in over a year, joining the Raiders scout team during Wednesday's practice. "Went out there and had some fun," Bush told the Oakland Tribune. "I'm in my own little world out there. I was on scout team, but that's better than nothing. I'll take it." Now that he's returned to practice, Bush has 21 days to either be promoted to the active roster or placed on season-ending injured reserve. He's been on the Physically Unable to Perform list all year as he attempts to come back from a broken leg.
D.J. Shockley, QB, Atlanta FalconsThursday 11/1, 10:56 AM CT
Falcons quarterback D.J. Shockley hopes to be ready for the start of the 2008 season, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He won’t be ready for anything this season because of a torn ACL suffered in the preseason. Matt Ryan, Brian Brohm, or Andre Woodson are each more likely than Shockley to start for Atlanta next season.
Ronald Curry, WR, Oakland RaidersThursday 11/1, 10:52 AM CT
Ronald Curry had to leave Wednesday's practice early as he continues to nurse a foot injury suffered during the Week 8 loss to the Titans. "My foot is fine. It's just one of those things where you take a little time," Curry told the Oakland Tribune. "I'm not going to miss any time."
Kurt Warner, QB, Arizona CardinalsThursday 11/1, 10:48 AM CT
Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner will continue to wear a brace to protect his injured left elbow and hand the ball off with his right arm, according to the Arizona Republic. Warner had no problems with the brace when it debuted in Week 7, as he threw for 282 yards and a pair of scores against the Redskins. He faces another tough pass defense this week in the Bucs.

Cam Cameron stated Wednesday that rookie John Beck and starter Cleo Lemon are now splitting the first-team practice reps. According to the Miami Herald, Cameron met with both players and informed them of his decision to "balance the reps out" during practice. The Dolphins won't practice again until after the Week 9 bye, but the writing appears to be on the wall for Beck taking over as the team's quarterback sooner, rather than later.
Tim Dwight, WR, Thursday 11/1, 10:42 AM CT
The Raiders signed Tim Dwight on Wednesday, according to the AP. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed. He has not appeared in a game since November of 2006 with the Jets.
Justin McCareins, WR, Tennessee TitansThursday 11/1, 10:41 AM CT
Laveranues Coles missed practice on Wednesday with a concussion and Newsday reports that he is unlikely to play in Week 9, which would give Justin McCareins a chance to start on Sunday. McCareins played very well in the preseason working with Kellen Clemens, the Jets new starting quarterback, but he dropped a couple of balls on crucial plays during the Jets' Week 2 loss to the Ravens (with Clemens at the helm). McCareins would be an option only if you are absolutely desperate this week.

Sammy Morris did not participate in the Patriots' Wednesday practice, reports the Boston Globe. Morris was expected to miss up to a month when he first injured his chest in Week 6, so this doesn't come as much of a surprise. Laurence Maroney and Kevin Faulk figure to shoulder the load again in Week 9 against the Colts in what will probably be the greatest NFL football game ever played (if not the greatest sports contest of any kind, or for that matter the most exciting three-hour period of time the world has ever known).
Ben Watson, TE, New England PatriotsThursday 11/1, 10:30 AM CT
Tight end Ben Watson returned to practice for the first time since injuring his ankle in Week 6. According to the Boston Globe, Watson did not participate in all portions of the Patriots' Wednesday practice, but he did not appear hindered by his ankle during non-contact drills.

Andre Johnson participated in full team drills Wednesday but will still likely be held out of Sunday's game against the Raiders. "You've got to be safe about it," Johnson told the Houston Chronicle. "You don't want something freakish to happen... I'm a competitor. I want to play. But that's not my decision."
Bobby Wade, WR, Minnesota VikingsThursday 11/1, 9:56 AM CT

Brian Urlacher did not practice on Wednesday. The Chicago Tribune speculates that he was resting his sore back, but team officials have not confirmed or denied that report.
