Dwight Freeney, DE, Indianapolis ColtsSunday 11/11, 10:32 PM CT
Dwight Freeney exited Sunday's game after injuring his left foot early in the fourth quarter. He was taken off the field on a cart and had his foot in a heavy wrap. The Colts have been hit hard by injuries in recent weeks, and this could be the worst of all if the playmaker ends up missing any games.
Brian Griese, QB, Tampa Bay BuccaneersSunday 11/11, 6:52 PM CT
The injury that knocked Brian Griese out of Sunday's game was to his shoulder, according to the AP. Griese was replaced by Rex Grossman, who fumbled the first snap from his center, but he ended up leading the Bears to a come-from-behind win over the Raiders. Grossman was 7-for-14 for 142 yards and a touchdown and may stick as the starter, regardless of Griese's health.
Steve McNair, QB, Sunday 11/11, 6:41 PM CT
Ravens coach Brian Billick yanked Steve McNair in favor of Kyle Boller in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game. McNair continued his awful play this season with 128 yards passing, no touchdowns, an interception and two lost fumbles before leaving. Boller has a bigger arm, which would clearly benefit all of the Ravens receivers, so there's a decent chance that Billick might stick with Boller going forward.
Dallas Clark, TE, Indianapolis ColtsSunday 11/11, 6:36 PM CT
Colts tight end Dallas Clark is inactive for Week 10 because of a concussion. Ben Utecht will start in his place and is a decent option if you need to take Clark out of your lineup at the last minute. Peyton Manning’s cupboard will be pretty empty tonight because of injuries.
Mark Clayton, WR, Baltimore RavensSunday 11/11, 6:34 PM CT
Mark Clayton woke up from a season-long stupor Sunday to catch eight passes for 107 yards. He entered the season as a sleeper, but a toe injury and the success of Derrick Mason slowed his production early on. He benefited Sunday from playing the hapless Bengals defense, but he had a 47-yard catch, so maybe this is a sign of things to come in the second half of the season. He'd also benefit if the Ravens stick with Kyle Boller, who replaced Steve McNair during Sunday's contest.
Chris Henry, WR, Cincinnati BengalsSunday 11/11, 6:28 PM CT
Chris Henry made his season debut after completing his eight-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy. It didn't take him long to make some fantasy noise, as the wide receiver caught four passes for a team-high 99 yards receiving. He's one of the rare No. 3 receivers capable of contributing every week for fantasy squads.
Adrian Peterson, RB, Minnesota VikingsSunday 11/11, 5:17 PM CT
Vikings head coach said running back Adrian Peterson suffered a sprained right knee, but the rookie will need to undergo an MRI to get a more definitive diagnosis, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “I was in pain there for a minute there and it slowly went away,” Peterson told the paper. “Right now, I’m banking it’s a sprained knee.” We’re not in the clear yet, fantasy owners. While the initial word from the team is positive, nothing will be known for sure until the results from the MRI are released.
Brian Griese, QB, Tampa Bay BuccaneersSunday 11/11, 5:06 PM CT
Bears quarterback Brian Griese was carted to the locker room after suffering an undisclosed injury. He got hurt on a sack and it is not immediately clear what his exact injury is. Rex Grossman took over for him.
Steven Jackson, RB, St. Louis RamsSunday 11/11, 4:12 PM CT
Steven Jackson returned to action on Sunday with a decent performance, especially if your league rewards running backs who pass for touchdowns. Jackson rushed 22 times for 76 yards and a touchdown, caught five passes for 24 yards and tossed a two-yard touchdown pass to Randy McMichael. Jackson had been out with groin and back injuries.
Priest Holmes, RB, Kansas City ChiefsSunday 11/11, 4:00 PM CT
As expected, Larry Johnson was inactive Sunday, so Priest Holmes started for the Chiefs. He was ineffective, though, carrying the ball 20 times for just 65 yards. He caught two passes for another 14 yards but failed to cross the goal line. Rookie Kolby Smith had only two carries, so you can safely expect Holmes to carry the rushing load for as long as LJ is down and Holmes can stay up on his feet.
Damon Huard, QB, Kansas City ChiefsSunday 11/11, 3:53 PM CT
Damon Huard was knocked out of Sunday's game after taking a big hit. He was on the sideline with an ice pack on his neck and did not return. Brodie Croyle stepped in and fared well, completing 17-of-30 passes for 192 yards a touchdown and an inteception. Whether Huard is healthy for the Chiefs' next game may not keep Croyle from taking over as the starter. Coach Herm Edwards wanted Croyle to take hold of the job before the season, and this performance may give the coach the confidence necessary to hand him the reigns.
Ryan Grant, RB, Green Bay PackersSunday 11/11, 3:43 PM CT
Ryan Grant was limited in practice this week due to a minor concussion, and there were rumors that Brandon Jackson could see a larger role in the running game on Sunday. As it turned out, Grant played, and got nearly all of the carries for the Packers, as he became the first player to rush for 100 yards against the Vikings defense. Grant had 25 carries for 119 yards and a touchdown and caught five passes for an additional 20 yards. At this point, Grant's pretty clearly established himself as their featured back going forward.
Alge Crumpler, TE, Tennessee TitansSunday 11/11, 3:31 PM CT
Alge Crumpler returned to action on Sunday after missing a couple of games with knee and ankle injuries. He had just two catches in the game, but he took the second one 30 yards for the game-winning touchdown. Crumpler figures to be hit or miss the rest of the season, but at least he's back on the field now.
LenDale White, RB, Tennessee TitansSunday 11/11, 3:02 PM CT
Titans running back LenDale White was knocked out of Sunday’s game in the third quarter with a leg injury. White hasn’t taken a carry since the injury and it appears his return is unlikely.
Adrian Peterson, RB, Minnesota VikingsSunday 11/11, 2:17 PM CT
Adrian Peterson went down with an apparent knee injury late in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Packers. Peterson took a short pass from Brooks Bollinger and took what appeared to be a hit to his right knee as he was tackled by two Packers defenders. He had to be helped off the field, though he was able to put some weight on the knee as he left and was later seen walking gingerly on the sidelines.
Chad Johnson, WR, Cincinnati BengalsSunday 11/11, 2:16 PM CT
Chad Johnson is listed as active for the Bengals' Week 10 clash with the Ravens. Johnson was able to practice throughout the week after his scary Week 9 neck injury. The Ravens are missing cornerbacks Chris McAlister and Samari Rolle, so there's no reason not to start Johnson.
Todd Heap, TE, Baltimore RavensSunday 11/11, 2:14 PM CT
Todd Heap is active and will start on Sunday against the Bengals. He has been dealing with a sore hamstring and a sore thigh.
Alge Crumpler, TE, Tennessee TitansSunday 11/11, 11:29 AM CT
Alge Crumpler is active and will start on Sunday against the Panthers. He has been dealing with ankle and knee issues.
Vinny Testaverde, QB, Sunday 11/11, 11:21 AM CT
Quarterbacks Vinny Testaverde and Matt Moore are both active for the Panthers on Sunday, and the veteran will start against the Falcons if he feels good during warm-ups. Testaverde has been dealing with a sore Achilles.
Steven Jackson, RB, St. Louis RamsSunday 11/11, 11:17 AM CT
Steven Jackson is active and will start on Sunday against the Saints. He has been dealing with groin and back issues.
Reggie Bush, RB, New Orleans SaintsSunday 11/11, 11:09 AM CT
Reggie Bush (knee) is active and starting against Rams on Sunday.
Correll Buckhalter, RB, Philadelphia EaglesSunday 11/11, 11:00 AM CT
Correll Buckhalter is inactive for Sunday's game against the Redskins. Various reports suggest he is sick. Rookie Tony Hunt will likely step up into his running back role, and J.R. Reed will likely return kicks.
Brooks Bollinger, QB, Dallas CowboysSunday 11/11, 10:59 AM CT
The Vikings have confirmed that Brooks Bollinger will be their starting quarterback today against the Packers. Tarvaris Jackson suffered a concussion in last week’s win over the Chargers. Not only is Jackson banged up, but the Vikings probably feel Bollinger gives them the best chance to win this week. However, fantasy owners who want to win this week should not start him.
Santana Moss, WR, Washington RedskinsSunday 11/11, 10:54 AM CT
Santana Moss is inactive on Sunday against the Eagles due to a sore heel.
Sidney Rice, WR, Minnesota VikingsSunday 11/11, 10:54 AM CT
The Vikings will be without wideout Sidney Rice in Week 10 because he’s inactive with a hamstring injury. Losing Rice takes away the Vikings best deep threat, but you wouldn’t be using anyone in their passing game anyways.
Jerious Norwood, RB, Atlanta FalconsSunday 11/11, 10:50 AM CT
Jeriuos Norwood will not play on Sunday against the Panthers. He is officially listed as inactive. Norwood missed a couple of practices with an ankle injury this week and was considered questionable going into the weekend. Warrick Dunn will carry the full load for the Falcons.
Plaxico Burress, WR, New York GiantsSunday 11/11, 10:07 AM CT
Plaxico Burress will start on Sunday against the Cowboys, ESPN reports. He has been dealing with a sprained right ankle since early August.
Derrick Ward, RB, New York GiantsSunday 11/11, 10:05 AM CT
Derrick Ward will not play against the Cowboys on Sunday due to a sore groin, ESPN reports.
Troy Williamson, WR, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 11/11, 9:44 AM CT
The Vikings have reversed their decision not to give wide receiver Troy Williamson his $25,000 paycheck from last week’s game—a game he missed while in South Carolina for the funeral of his grandmother, the person who raised him. "I think the important thing is everybody grieves differently," head coach Brad Childress told the Associated Press. "That's the thing that I learned, or we learned, in this. In the end, it's not important to be right, but to get it right."
