Maurice Morris, RB, Seattle SeahawksMonday 11/12, 10:59 PM CT
Maurice Morris was busy but ordinary in Monday's win over the Niners, picking up 103 total yards and a touchdown on 31 touches. Morris's output was about opportunity more than anything else, as he made just 3.1 yards a carry on his 28 rushing attempts.
Matt Hasselbeck, QB, Seattle SeahawksMonday 11/12, 10:55 PM CT
Mike Holmgren made good on his promise to throw the ball more this week, having Matt Hasselbeck throw 27 first-half passes Monday against the 49ers. Hasselbeck finished the night 27-for-40 for 278 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception.
D.J. Hackett, WR, Carolina PanthersMonday 11/12, 10:52 PM CT
D.J. Hackett was all over the field Monday, catching eight passes for 101 yards and a touchdown. He was Matt Hasselbeck's first read from the opening possession.
Arnaz Battle, WR, San Francisco 49ersMonday 11/12, 10:50 PM CT
Arnaz Battle was most of San Francisco's receiving game Monday, catching four passes for 78 yards at Seattle. The rest of the receivers had just 36 yards.
Frank Gore, RB, San Francisco 49ersMonday 11/12, 10:47 PM CT
Frank Gore was one of the few bright spots for the Niners in Monday's 24-0 loss at Seattle. Gore gained 72 yards on 13 carries, in addition to a couple of short receptions.
Brodie Croyle, QB, Kansas City ChiefsMonday 11/12, 9:13 PM CT
Brodie Croyle will start at Indianapolis Sunday, the Kansas City Star reports. "You need a spark," head coach Herm Edwards said of his offense.
Dwight Freeney, DE, Indianapolis ColtsMonday 11/12, 9:08 PM CT
Dwight Freeney (foot) is expected to miss multiple games, according to the Colts official site. "We anticipate that Dwight will some significant amount of time – three, four games, maybe more," team preident Bill Polian said. To partially address this, the club added Simeon Rice off waivers Monday.
Marshawn Lynch, RB, Buffalo BillsMonday 11/12, 1:53 PM CT
Marshawn Lynch believes he'll be able to play in Week 11 despite tweaking his ankle late in Sunday's win over the Dolphins, but he will undergo an MRI on the injured leg on Tuesday before the team makes a decision. "There is concern and we'll have an MRI," head coach Dick Jauron told the team's official website. "We'll just have to see what happens there. We don't believe anything is broken. He's very optimistic and we'll certainly know more by tomorrow."
Tarvaris Jackson, QB, Minnesota VikingsMonday 11/12, 12:56 PM CT
During his Monday press conference, Vikings head coach Brad Childress indicated that Tarvaris Jackson will be their starting quarterback against the Raiders in Week 11. Brooks Bollinger started for the Vikings in Week 10 and led the team to zero points and 0-for-8 on third down in their 34-0 loss to the Packers.
Adrian Peterson, RB, Minnesota VikingsMonday 11/12, 12:47 PM CT
Adrian Peterson has a torn lateral collateral ligament in his right knee. That was the word from Vikings head coach Brad Childress at his weekly press conference on Monday. The tear was graded as two-plus, with three being the worst; however, Childress said that surgery would not be needed. No timetable has been established for Peterson’s return, but he will definitely miss Week 11 against the Raiders. The rookie running back’s knee checked out healthy and stable other than the LCL tear.
Deion Branch, WR, Seattle SeahawksMonday 11/12, 10:50 AM CT
Seahawks receiver Deion Branch will not play in Monday’s game with the 49ers because of his foot injury, according to ESPN.com. He has missed the last three games due to the injury. Branch’s absence makes Bobby Engram a very good play tonight and also helps the value of D.J. Hackett.
Shaun Alexander, RB, Monday 11/12, 9:54 AM CT
Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander will not play tonight against 49ers, according to ESPN.com. He suffered knee and ankle injuries in Week 9 and was listed as questionable on the injury report. No Alexander will mean even more emphasis on the passing game, which adds to the value of Matt Hasselbeck and Bobby Engram, who has developed into Hasslebeck’s favorite target with Deion Branch out.
Isaac Bruce, WR, San Francisco 49ersMonday 11/12, 8:48 AM CT
Isaac Bruce was unable to complete Sunday's contest. He was forced out during the third quarter due to a strained hamstring, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. It ended what had been a good game for Bruce, as he had four catches fr 62 yards and his first score of the season. It's not yet clear if he will be available for Week 11.
James Thrash, WR, Washington RedskinsMonday 11/12, 8:41 AM CT
James Thrash had nice performance Sunday. Starting in place of an injured Santana Moss, Thrash hauled in five catches for 85 yards and two touchdowns before exiting in the fourth quarter due to a high-ankle sprain. Such injuries typically will sideline a player for several weeks, but more should be known after he's examined further on Monday.
Sean Taylor, S, Washington RedskinsMonday 11/12, 8:38 AM CT
Sean Taylor was forced to leave Sunday's game late in the third quarter with a sprained knee. He's scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday, according to the Washington Post. He leads the Redskins with five interceptions, so clearly they'd be missing a key piece if Taylor ends up sidelined for game action.
Reggie Bush, RB, New Orleans SaintsMonday 11/12, 8:32 AM CT
Reggie Bush played through his sore knee on Sunday, but he missed some action with a head injury. Afterward, Bush was unavailable for comment, and the Saints didn't issue an offical report on his condition, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. However, Bush's stepfather, LaMar Griffin, said Bush suffered a mild concussion and was "still woozy" after the game. Keep an eye on reports early in the week on his potential concussion and how his knee responded to playing.
David Carr, QB, New York GiantsMonday 11/12, 8:16 AM CT
David Carr admitted Sunday that he actually is recovering from two concussions, not just one, sustained in the past five weeks. That's why he was held out of Week 10's game, according to the Charlotte Observer. "I took a knee to the head in that New Orleans game after a scramble near the goal line in the first quarter, and that turned out to be a concussion as well," Carr said. "So the concussion against Tennessee was my second this season. That's why the doctors were so careful with me this week, because if I get a third one this season, I'll probably be out for a longer amount of time." Carr said doctors told him he has a good chance of suiting up for Week 11, but that will depend on how he feels during the week.
Fernando Bryant, CB, New England PatriotsMonday 11/12, 8:11 AM CT
Fernando Bryant was forced to leave Sunday's game due to an ankle injury. He was using crutches after the contest but declined to comment, according to the Detroit Free Press. He was writhing in pain, and though the medical staff wanted to take him off the field on a cart, he hopped to the sideline with some assistance. More about his status for Week 11 should be known Monday, but it didn't look promising at the time.
Brandon Jones, WR, Tennessee TitansMonday 11/12, 7:50 AM CT
Brandon Jones sustained a concussion on Sunday, according to the Tennessean. Whether he will be available for Week 11 probably won't be known for a few days, so stay tuned.
Pacman Jones, CB, Dallas CowboysMonday 11/12, 7:48 AM CT
The NFL Players Association is appealing Commissioner Roger Goodell's decision not to reduce the year-long suspension against Pacman Jones. The union sent a letter to Goodell on Friday, asking for a hearing as soon as possible, according to the Tennessean. Jones is hoping to get his suspension reduced so that he can return this season, but chances of that happening via an appeal appear to be slim.
LaMont Jordan, RB, New England PatriotsMonday 11/12, 7:37 AM CT
LaMont Jordan did not get any touches during Sunday's game. "We decided Justin (Fargas) was the starter again, and Dominic (Rhodes) hadn't had any touches so we decided we were going to use Dominic as the change-up back," coach Lane Kiffin said, according to the Contra Costa Times. Jordan got off to a hot start this season, but he's clearly fallen out of favor with Kiffin.
Josh McCown, QB, Carolina PanthersMonday 11/12, 7:32 AM CT
Josh McCown was dealing with a bruised thigh after Sunday's game. "It's pretty sore," McCown told the Contra Costa Times. "It's the worst type of bruise I've had so, hopefully, it can get better. These things are kind of awkward, just kind of hard to tell. You never know how bad they're going to feel until the next day." Like he said, his availability for Week 11 won't be known until he's examined further on Monday.
Brodie Croyle, QB, Kansas City ChiefsMonday 11/12, 7:02 AM CT
Brodie Croyle replaced an injured Damon Huard Sunday and completed 17-of-30 passes for 192 yards a touchdown and an inteception. While coach Herm Edwards had said that when he eventually made the switch to presumptive quarterback of the future, Croyle, that he'd stick with it. But on Sunday, he was non-committal, saying only that he would decide Monday who would start in Week 11, according to the KC Star. It would be surprising if if Edwards doesn't stick with Croyle, but time will tell.
Jason Taylor, DE, Washington RedskinsMonday 11/12, 6:50 AM CT
Jason Taylor injured his ankle early in the second half on Sunday. Although he didn't believe it was sprained, Taylor was only able to take part in a few more plays during the remainder of the contest, according to the Miami Herald. We'll have to wait until he's examined further Monday before knowing the severity of the injury or his status for Week 11.
Todd Heap, TE, Baltimore RavensMonday 11/12, 6:34 AM CT
Todd Heap played through his ailing hamstring Sunday, catching four passes for 38 yards. However, he aggravated the injury during the contest, according to the Baltimore Sun. "It's been better," said Heap. "Tried to go on it today. It's been hampering me for a while. It's definitely something that's frustrating and something I haven't dealt with before. I don't know what to expect from it. I'm just trying to do everything I can to get back as soon as possible." Sounds like Heap owners are going to be in for yet another week of waiting and wondering if their tight end will take the field on game day.
Marshawn Lynch, RB, Buffalo BillsMonday 11/12, 6:28 AM CT
Marshawn Lynch left Sunday's game late in the contest after twisting his ankle. There was no mention of the severity of the injury in the Buffalo News, so hopefully it's just something minor. Lynch got himself into "Beast Mode" Sunday to finish with 85 yards, a touchdown and a two-point conversion. What's "Beast Mode" for Lynch? "It's simply the attitude you can't get tackled by one defender," Lynch said. But for one record-setting Adrian Peterson, Lynch would be getting a lot more press about his solid first-year performance.
