Anquan Boldin, WR, Arizona CardinalsThursday 12/13, 9:14 PM CT
Anquan Boldin tested out his ailing toe with a little practice on Thursday. "I just tried to get out and test it out a little bit, you know, run around a little bit," Boldin said, according to the AP. "It's still a little sore, but I was able to do a couple of things on it. Unless anything happens, I should be out there Sunday." That may be an optimistic take, considering he's returning from a dislocated toe. Let's see how he does Friday before looking at Sunday.
Antonio Gates, TE, San Diego ChargersThursday 12/13, 9:10 PM CT
Antonio Gates again did not practice on Thursday due to his sore back. "Antonio's a lot better today than he was yesterday and I would hope he can do parts of practice tomorrow," coach Norv Turner told the AP. "He's getting a lot better. If he progresses the way he has over the last two days, then I think he'll be all right." Barring a setback, Gates should be on the field for Week 15.
Philip Rivers, QB, San Diego ChargersThursday 12/13, 9:05 PM CT
After sitting out Wednesday' practice to rest his sprained left knee, Philip Rivers took part in half of Thursday's session. "I just think it's important at this position to get some reps in practice rather than go out there cold," he said, according to the AP. "Again, I took half of them today and felt pretty good. Hopefully, I'll increase it tomorrow and be ready." At this point, it looks like Rivers should be set to go against the Lions, but he'll have to avoid a setback beforehand.
Albert Haynesworth, DT, Tennessee TitansThursday 12/13, 9:00 PM CT
Albert Haynesworth still is dealing with a nagging hamstring strain. The injury has kept him from practicing the past two days, according to the AP. "He did not practice today, but I think he's getting better," coach Jeff Fisher said. "We have not ruled him out for the game. I think he's better at this time this week than he was last week." The defensive tackle didn't practice at all last week but still played on Sunday, so there's a good chance he'll do the same thing in Week 15.
Randy Thomas, G, Washington RedskinsThursday 12/13, 12:20 PM CT
The Redskins placed Randy Thomas (triceps) on IR on Thursday.
Marc Bulger, QB, St. Louis RamsThursday 12/13, 12:00 PM CT
Rams quarterback Marc Bulger practiced Wednesday and reports no ill effects, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Bulger has not played since suffering a concussion on November 25. Bulger is not a good start this week because of his tough matchup with the Packers and his poor play all season.
Roy Williams, WR, Detroit LionsThursday 12/13, 11:58 AM CT
Roy Williams may not miss the remainder of the season. In fact, he could be back next week, according to the Detroit Free Press, which also acknowledges that a Week 17 return is more likely. He is nursing a sprained PCL in his right knee.
Shaun Rogers, DT, Cleveland BrownsThursday 12/13, 11:50 AM CT
Shaun Rogers did not practice on Wednesday. The Lions official website notes that he has a knee injury. It’s too soon to say whether Rogers will play in Sunday’s game against the Chargers. IDP owners should check back for updates throughout the week.
Chris Redman, QB, Atlanta FalconsThursday 12/13, 11:48 AM CT
Chris Redman will be the Falcons starting quarterback again this week, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He was under center for Atlanta last week, too. Fantasy owners have no business using Redman, especially against a tough Buccaneers secondary. He does seem to have a good connection with Roddy White, though, so that will help White’s value for the remainder of the season.
Vince Young, QB, Tennessee TitansThursday 12/13, 11:44 AM CT
Vince Young indicated that his sore ribs will not prevent him from playing this week. “I’ve got to play through it, just like everybody else in the NFL,” Young told the Tennessean. “I’m not one of those guys who’s going to sit on the sidelines because of a little bump or bruise.”
Charles Woodson, CB, Green Bay PackersThursday 12/13, 11:34 AM CT
Charles Woodson was not on the practice field on Wednesday, according the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. He is still nursing a toe injury.
Larry Fitzgerald, WR, Arizona CardinalsThursday 12/13, 11:32 AM CT
Cardinals wideout Larry Fitzgerald was running gingerly during Wednesday’s practice, according to the Arizona Republic. Larry is battling a strained left groin but was able to play last week. Fitzgerald has a few days to get back up to full speed, so we’ll only be concerned about him if he’s struggling to make it through Friday’s practice.
Conrad Bolston, DT, Green Bay PackersThursday 12/13, 11:27 AM CT
The Packers claimed defensive tackle Conrad Bolston off waivers on Wednesday, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. He spent the first 12 weeks of the year on the practice squad in Minnesota.
Anquan Boldin, WR, Arizona CardinalsThursday 12/13, 11:21 AM CT
Cardinals wideout Anquan Boldin was unable to practice on Wednesday and spent his time in a walking boot, according to the Arizona Republic. Boldin didn’t play last week because of his dislocated toe.
Tom Brady, QB, New England PatriotsThursday 12/13, 11:01 AM CT
Early forecasts are indicating the possibility of heavy snow in Foxborough this Sunday, reports the Boston Globe. "Any time you play in a bad-weather game, your level of awareness and concentration has to go up," Tom Brady told the Globe. The Patriots are 9-0 in "snowy conditions," but the bigger issue here is how this might affect the high-octane passing attack of the Patriots. It's far too soon to be sure the weather will be inclement, and even if it is you can't possibly bench Brady or Randy Moss.
Terry Glenn, WR, Dallas CowboysThursday 12/13, 9:55 AM CT
Terry Glenn caught passes and did some individual drills on Wednesday, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. He has been out all year due to two surgeries on his right knee. The latest operation came on September 13. Glenn is not expected to play in Weeks 15 or 16.
Brandon Jacobs, RB, New York GiantsThursday 12/13, 9:48 AM CT
Giants running back Brandon Jacobs (hamstring), linebacker Antonio Pierce (ankle), and wide receiver Steve Smith (hamstring) all practiced fully on Wednesday, the New York Daily News notes.
L.J. Smith, TE, Philadelphia EaglesThursday 12/13, 9:44 AM CT
Eagles running back Correll Buckhalter (concussion) and tight end L.J. Smith (ribs, knee) missed practice on Wednesday and could be out in Week 15, the Philadelphia Daily News reports.
Selvin Young, RB, Denver BroncosThursday 12/13, 9:35 AM CT
Selvin Young will play in front of his hometown Houston friends and family on Thursday, and he is looking forward to the contest. "I'm really exited," he tells the Denver Post. "I get an opportunity to go do what I love to do in front of my family. I'm really expecting to have a big game."
Kolby Smith, RB, Kansas City ChiefsThursday 12/13, 9:30 AM CT
Kolby Smith (knee) was limited in practice on Wednesday, but he is not worried about his status for the weekend. “I’ll be ready to go on Sunday,” he tells the Kansas City Star. “However many times they want to give it to me, I’ll take it." Gilbert Harris and Jackie Battle are his backups.
Antonio Gates, TE, San Diego ChargersThursday 12/13, 9:25 AM CT
Antonio Gates did not practice on Wednesday due to a sore back, but he is expected to play in Week 15, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Philip Rivers, QB, San Diego ChargersThursday 12/13, 9:22 AM CT
Philip Rivers missed practice on Wednesday due to a sprained left knee, but he is expected to play in Week 15. “Philip wanted to practice today,” head coach Norv Turner tells the team's official web site. “It was really our decision... I’d expect him to practice tomorrow."
Josh McCown, QB, Miami DolphinsThursday 12/13, 9:17 AM CT
Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin made an early-week decision, for once. Josh McCown will start at quarterback against the Colts in Week 15, and JaMarcus Russell will enter the game at some point, the San Jose Mercury News reports. Daunte Culpepper (quad) did not practice on Wednesday.
