Cleveland Browns general manager Phil Savage told reporters on Wednesday that he is hoping to resign Pro Bowl alternate quarterback Derek Anderson. The 24-year old Anderson is supposed to be a restricted free agent at the end of the season, but Savage told reporters that he is planning on Anderson being the starting quarterback next season.

Terrell Owens spent Wednesday rehabilitating his high ankle sprain, and did not see the practice field at all. According to head coach Wade Phillips, if Owens says he is ready to go on Sunday, Phillips would let him play.

Chargers tight end Antonio Gates has been downgraded to doubtful according to ESPN’s Jon Clayton. Clayton has reported that Gates’ toe is dislocated rather than sprained, and that the Chargers will most likely be without him until at least the week of the Super Bowl, if they are to advance that far.

According to Cowboys coach Wade Phillips, Terry Glenn is getting closer to one hundred percent, after two knee surgeries and missing 15 games this season. On Wednesday Glenn participated in his first full practice since training camp. “I’m somewhat encouraged there,” said Phillips. “Whatever you get from Terry is a bonus certainly.”

Seahawks kicker Josh Brown apparently isn’t used to cold weather. Brown will wear pants with battery-powered heaters in his pants during Saturday’s playoff game in Green Bay to keep his legs at 75 degrees, according to the Associated Press. Brown brings up a valid point that kickers have a harder time staying lose because their on the sidelines most of the game. However, this will not help kickers’ attempt to be more respected members of the football community.

Seahawks receiver Deion Branch was able to do some running during Tuesday’s practice despite his calf injury, according to the Seattle Times. He has been out of action since Week 16. Don’t plan on using Branch unless he gets a full practice in sometime this week. If he can’t go, D.J. Hackett’s value will continue to rise.
